STEEMit or the Sewer? You Choose
Dear Minnow, I understand your having a rough time of it. I am truly sorry to hear that but I know where you are coming from. Even today I publish post with only 10 or 15 eyeballs that may see it. Many of them go with $0.00 rewards sometimes. And to add insult to injury, I have almost 1000 followers, run a STEEM Witness server and have almost 1500 STEEM in my wallet, all powered up and delegated to.... @Minnowbooster! Go Figure. But hey! I am getting about 1 SBD back each day for that generous delegation.
So lets keep things in perspective before you leave the STEEMit pond of Whales dolphins and minnows for some famous sewer cause you have more friends in that alleged pond and get more views in that particular cesspool of censorship and shadowbanning.
Consider this...
Once you swim back over to the cesspool that is Fascistbook, how much are your post on that platform going to pay you for your efforts? No no. Just the post that don't get censored by King Zuckerberg. Oh, is that so? You say you are going to have a bunch of followers nd tons of thumbs up your FB post? Aye, so that's it.
Yes It's this easy
Well here is an idea. Login to your STEEMit account and copy the 1st paragraph of your full post, now you are going to want to post that one paragraph in that Fascist Prison's monitored bulletin board.
Now that you have that 1st paragraph on your clipboard swim to the overflow and direct your self down the bandwidth drain. At the first junction turn left, yes left, it's always to the LEFT to get to FascsitBook or any of the other censorboards.
Now checkin with the warden and post your paragraph with a link back to the whole article back to your STEEMit account. Now invite your loyal following from Fascistbook or Twatter to join you for an afternoon of liberty and freedom, swimming in the clear waters of STEEMit. Once they are here they can read your post in all its glory and glitter. And If they want to upvote your post then you might want to recommend to them that they sign up for an account on STEEMit. Ask them to join you in your Liberty Puddle.
Understand the financial metrics of posting
STEEMit is Magically Delicious but it is not a rainbow over a pond with an open pot of gold sitting at the ponds river inlet just waiting for you to show up and dig in. It's going to take some hard work. Be patient stick with it and promote yourself to those that you already have a relationship with. If your content is good at Fascistbook, Twatter or some other censorboard it will likely be good here too. Just drop a teaser there and link back here.
STEEMit's not a cash cow, It's more of a share croppers plow and you are going to have to work it to get your garden to grow. Best of luck and remember, winners never quit trying.

Thank you for this open letter! Having just started Steemit a few weeks ago, I already feel how difficult it is to really be noticed here. It hurts more when posts you worked hard on barely get any views or upvotes.
I'll definitely keep trying and posting everyday, hoping that maybe this time it'll be different. But I don't know, maybe it'll be just the same as well.
Consistence is key, I suppose. And I'd much rather post here than in other social platforms, if you know what I mean. I feel like I'm being more productive here as well, even if I'm just browsing or reading other posts.
@libertyranger @cruziana Do not despair....It will take time and interaction before you start to gain traction here on steemit. Competition will also increase with the increase in steemit users making it harder to get rewards, but as I said, if you persevere then success will follow. Hang in there and encourage others as well. Think of where your account could be in 2 or 3 years from now!

Thank you so much for your encouraging words! Being successful in Steemit definitely entails a lot of effort and time. But it's all going to be worth it in the end.
If I don't persevere now, I know I'll regret it in the end. I'm sure the big people or whales now all started small. I hope one day all of this will pay off! And perhaps I'll also learn to be just as successful as you!
Its hard to see some people getting money for doing nothing and then your efforts get nothing. I joined steemit because you own your content and nothing can be blocked out because it is on a block chain. So I joined not expecting anything in return and therefore I am not disappointed.
Well, what I learned so far is, that one needs some patience...and endurance...and maybe, it will show some results.

Fb is waste of time , we got everything here on steemit . News , gags (dmania ) , dtube , steemchat and there are many more which i haven't figured out yet !
I'm a week into Steemit, and haven't checked my Facebook account since. I keep telling people I miss seeing their daily updates, but I don't have time for both so they need to consider making the transition.
Glad to have you here. Just keep at it. I've made about $350 here total on post and comments but I've not taken a dime out. Just keep powering up steem power and delagating it to @minnowbooster

Lol this is awesome. People do gets frustrated pretty quick and leave. But you have an option of giving your free time and energy to Facebook or actually earning something here. If it wasn't for the Facebook auto login with all the third party sites I would close my account.

This can't be more handy. I need to reorientate myself and enjoy the community. Truth be told, I've been impressed with what we have on this platform. Irrelevant posts are limited or non-existent and members post educative posts to enlighten others.

Very true! Many flock in here hoping to make tons of money. I used to believe that, though I was able to encash an ample amount here but it took me a while. It doesn't just come easily. Well, thanks to those whales who most of the time give welcome gifts to first timers in their introductory post. But after that you have to work your way up. Sometimes it may be a love and hate relationship, but at the end of the day one must remember that this is a blog site. We need to post contents that are valuable to our readers, much like putting up your own blog site such as blogspot or WordPress. Luckily though, this platform rewards better than those I've mentioned. It takes a lot of hard work and studying. One needs to learn to post good contents which means looking up on books and asking Google for stuffs. Likewise, steemit is a vast platform in itself and I just learned to make it big here, we have to study the platform itself. Cheers!

I am not having issues with my account or my resilience and growth in this community. I am generally very pleased with my progress. I have even put out over $15,000 worth of computer equipment in support of the STEEM blockchain with a witness server and a SEED Server, I have also made arrangements to put a 512GB RAM full RPC node for public use in my hosting facility into action by the end of the 1st quarter. All this is at my cost. And don't think for a minute I will get his back in Witness rewards, FAR FROM IT.
How much have you contributed to the infrastructure of the STEEM Blockchain?
As for the votbots... I generally don't use votbots but I wanted to get this post in front of discouraged minnows.
I guess you did not bother to read what I wrote. To bad, you would have seen I was trying to encourage new users that are not having an easy time with it. I WAS NOT COMPLAINING ABOUT MY SITUATION.
As for reward pool rape, I am delegating to @Minnowbooster and to @MSP-Pals Both are designed to assist minnows. Both run by Witnesses, @aggroed runs the MSP bots and @minnowbooster is run by @buildteam if you don't like what they are doing perhaps you should take it up with those witnesses.
I look forward to being notified when you post about your concerns in the witness-category or witness-update category of Steemit and not in just some hidden reply on someones post that is actually trying to encourage new users to not give up. Your concern is noted but not applicable in my opinion to this article or to my account.
