Thanks @randowhale! and thanks me :-)
Something I've thought about before, separate from the issue you're talking about, is that I'd like there to be a way to say something on top of the re-steem.
Like, if a friend of yours posts for the first time, it would be nice to be able to say "hey guys, this is my friend blahblah, new to steemit if you want to show some love", rather than like it's just randomly re-steemed by you.
And incidentally it would help the situation you're talking about; you could edit it saying that you learned it's a fake account, so at least your disclaimer is there forever too.
I've also considered that I don't like the clutter that re-steems create. I don't blog especially often, so a link to my blog would quickly not really be my blog anymore if I used the re-steem regularly.
So personally love the idea of a separate tab, or disappearing.
The blowback tho, I guess, is that now everybody re-steems loosely. Maybe it's good to make us really mean it when we want to re-steem. Not sure.
That would make a lot more sense if you could add a comment with the re-steem, it would add so many options.
Personally, I think having them be temporary or otherwise able to be removed is going to be really important in the long run.
I had a similar experience. I resteemed a post that was giving out a newbie tip that i later realized may not be exactly true. It went on to do ok but now im wondering, will it reflect on me if it turns out to be all incorrect info?
Ya, there's definitely an issue with it being on your wall forever, especially since you could even re-steem something, and then the author could go back and change the post completely, and it would still be on your "blog" forever.
Haha you can always try to re-steem my posts. They are 100% original, plagiarism is a no-no.
I'm done re-steeming for now at least. Maybe if it changes down the road.
ThankS for that !! - ))
ITs true for me .. when i go to someone's page, i'm tHERE to find them FIRST and what they sUPport SECOND ... certainly the reSTEEM is important; but, in the current format, clutter filled - )))

I agree, re-steems are a secondary thing for sure.
I do love the ever-evolving nature of humans when not constrained by authoritarianism :-) I love being able to toss ideas out there towards the improvement we all want.
RIGHT !!! - )))

Awesome, I'm glad it helped :-) Thanks for the up-vote
oooo interesting! I have just started Steeming and wasn't sure about re-steeming. I shall hold off on re-steeming for now. I like the idea of there being a separate section for re-steemed articles though. =]
I've searched all over for this info and I agree with your #1. solution! I could have saved a lot of time if only I followed you last month. Oh, wait... I'm new here (10 days!) lol Thanks for this.
