Yup, Steemit is the beginning of the pushback against attempts to turn the internet back into a one to many propaganda machine. I expect it won't be the only one and by late next year it will be as big a buzzword as 'blockchain' with tens of new startups in the area. But Steemit will be like the bitcoin.

The only concern I have is attacks on the system. I'm sure the devs are already looking into how to mitigate this. Bitcoin's first exchange got attacked hard and now again, the biggest has been attacked. I think part of the risk there has already been addressed by eliminating a password recovery system and encouraging very strong passwords.
