I was gonna ask the same thing but I thought I shouldn't since he seems really determined about his decision.
Maybe I should have made the same choice... Oh well. If I'm prying, I won't get an answer and that's fine, haha :)
Thanks for the kind words and good wishes @k0wsk1. I hop you're not too disappointed in my lack of explanation. I didn't really want to go into detail since some of the reasons are quite personal and not something I feel comfortable sharing. I do have issues with some aspects of steemit that make my decision easier but these are secondary and I've spoken about them at length in previous posts. I did think it was important to say thank you before I left though. :)
