mmhmm. I saw something like this earlier, I forget where. The general idea being that the hardest part of getting someone interested in bitcoin, or any cryptocurrency, is getting some of it into their hands. This is a good way to get a noticeable percentage of the population to suddenly have a few crypto coins, and that'll motivate them to go figure out what they can do with them :)
I have been saying this for a minute @erroneous-logic I believe STEEMIT is very important to introducing the masses to crypto.

I'd like to see people able to buy STEEM with their credit cards without knowing anything about crypto. Although a significant minority will still want to learn what this STEEM is, and therefore get into crypto
Yes this would speed up the progress of steemit and crypto taking the world by storm. This would also allow the average guy that can see the potential of steemit to power up very easily. Like now in order to turn my dollars in to steem power it is quit a process and takes about a week
