Is the purpose of Steemit making money? Sure there's a tip/incentive for creating content on the platform so it's going to be abused. I see value in this in a potential widely used social network free of advertising thus not so interesting to people that want user data.
Beta phase so yeah there are plenty of problems to solve but approaching this as a source of income seems very counterproductive if we're trying to build a platform that will attract masses.
