For any relationship to thrive, all parties involved must be committed to making sacrifices. In the best relationship which the Bible refers to as marriage, God has ordained that the husband be the head of the family . This is not about preference but order .
Sadly ,some people campaign for the alteration of that order. Wives must learn to follow the leading of their husbands so long as it doesn't conflict with God's written laws .
Let's take a clue on how this work from the most fortunate family that has ever lived - Jesus Earthly Family.
Matthew 2:13-14 KJV
And when they were departed, behold, the angel of the Lord appeareth to Joseph in a dream, saying, Arise, and take the young child and his mother, and flee into Egypt, and be thou there until I bring thee word: for Herod will seek the young child to destroy him. [14] When he arose, he took the young child and his mother by night, and departed into Egypt:".
Throughout the early days of Jesus , His safety was a product of Joseph hearing God and Mary listening and following Joseph. God spoke to Joseph, Joseph spoke to Mary,she listened and their Child was secured. Like Rachel and Leah ,sisters,learn to respond this way:
Genesis 31
[16]For all the riches which God has taken from our father are ours and our children's. Now then, "whatever God has said to you, do it" .
This pattern hasn't changed.
Today , many marriages may be strained because the wife consider it weakness to listen to her husband. She wants to feel like a boss as if she is in a competition with her spouse . This pattern cannot sustain the love that brought you together. Stop being afraid of the word "submission". It doesn't equals slavery .
If the direction your husband seem to follow is out of range , wisely as a woman who is crowned by wisdom, convey your fears ,disagreement and agitations and trust God to intervene.
Recently, a number of my colleagues have been led to the altar and has my contribution to their marital bliss, I beseech my sisters in these cycles to learn to listen to your husband and follow his leading . Don't be scared to let go of your hands for him to hold if he is God's choice.
This is not a matter of preference or inferiority but of divine order. Husbands must be MAN ENOUGH to love and cherish their wives
