Not to nitpick, but Steemit has the mother of all censorship mechanisms via the reputation system. You are likely referring to centralized censorship by a government agency for the purpose of furthering some political agenda. In that sense you are correct. But in another sense, Steemit has the potential to be the most efficient censorship machine on the planet - and that isn't a bad thing. Anyways, yes! Steemit is going to empower entirely new sections of society and culture that were previously marginalized due to lack of funding and banking.

Yes sir. I see your point. I was only implying censorship in the sense of totally taking down material. Even with the reputation system, content can still be viewed. Frankly, I am as happy as you for the reputation system, because it keeps the bots, spammers, and abusers at bay. Rather than censorship, I see this as freedom of association enacted based on merit.
