Guys - have you just made a Steemit account? Are you frustrated because you're all excited to make money and have fun but you are stuck? Read my Top 6 Tips for getting your Steemit career launched. I promise if you take my tips to heart you will be more successful and make more money on Steemit.
Post Great Content and Stay Consistent:
Actually take the time to sit down and write an extensive article with good content that people will value. Make sure it is several paragraphs long but not too wordy. Also, don’t forget to check your work – seriously guys spend some time doing this! You also want to insert pictures in your posts and link your sources. Too many people try to take short cuts and post short articles that lack great content or they just post a link to a news article, put some effort in guys! Write something you are passionate about – I promise you will produce better content. For me I’m passionate about fitness/health, traveling, and money/economics. Once you regularly start posting great content, whales will notice you and you will get upvoted! My first post when I joined Steemit only made $.13. Don’t get discouraged if you aren’t making anything in your first month. Persistence and patience will pay off. As you see below I wrote a passionate post about my Miami vacation with great content and great pictures, and I was heavily rewarded!
Travel With Me: Miami Beach! :)
I was making nothing when I just first started in January on Steemit. I'm doing farely well for being 2-3 months in, but I’m just getting started! If I continue growing on the path I am, my gains will be exponential!
Write Extensive Comments
Good quality posters on Steemit spend a lot of time and effort on their articles, so it is important you take the time to read all of their writing - slow down this isn't a race! You should comment and interact with him or her in an effective manner. All too often I see comments from new users on Steemit saying “Cool post – follow me” or “Great post”. The author knows you aren’t really reading his or her article and this is also seen as rude, you will probably get a downvote. As you can see below I really make an effort to comment on the author’s content and offer my own opinion. Trust me once you start putting more time and effort in your posts you will have more fun and will be rewarded more.
Upvote Your Followers and Reply to Comments!
It is important to return the favor for people who upvoted you and left you meaningful comments. You want to be nice to your followers and acknowledge them! They will continually upvote you and resteem you to their followers – it’s a win-win! Besides this is what makes this community so fun and great!
Find Great Posts to Curate Before They Start Trending:
I am very passionate about fitness and health, so I naturally like reading about them on Steemit. Now one of my favorite bloggers @janicehung posted a very interesting video about her glute leg workout that had very little views. I was immediately able to recognize she produced a great post and upvoted and commented. As you can see Janice’s video was heavily rewarded, and I got a good share of the 25% reward bonus :).
Also Don’t Forget to Help Out New Steemians:
New users (minnows) are joining this platform every day. Whales help us out, so we need to do anything we can to help out the newbies. Doing this repeatedly will gain you followers and you will be remembered for helping them out. When these minnows become whales you will be heavily rewarded! :P
Last Tip and Close:
Introduce personal branding - see below for my example. You want people to know and remember you and your posts. I would suggest posting some sort of label for yourself and a picture of your avatar. It allows others to click on your profile easy. It definitely helps distinguish you from the rest of the pack! In addition to this, you can add links to your other posts for easy access for your followers.
I hope this post really was informative. I want to help you and do my part to grow this community. Please feel free to leave feedback! Thank you all!

It’s interesting that you give this advice here but just upvoted your own comment on my post without upvoting my post at all. Quite contradictory me thinks.
Simple but powerful advice. It just goes to show that the best advice is practical. I definitely like it because it's the sort of info that many people swear they know already but never actually put into practice. I will definitely take your advice! Great post!
thanks real.deal! Yes I hope it is very rich and POWERFUL. Yes, stick to simple but practical advice. Thanks- I appreciate the comment!
I learned a lot from your post in making blogs. I admit that I made a shortcut in making an article because of overloaded works. The tips you share is great and hopefully, I'll try doing it next time.
Yes thank you for actually reading. Yeap don't take short cuts! Quality over quantity. Glad you could learn something valuable from this!
A good guideline for newbies...! 🤗
It's not much easy to be successful here, the key is to be more socialized and befriend with more people..! 😇
I guess i'm seeing my name in one of the screenshots..! 😃
Best of luck to all of us...!!!! 🤗
~Greetings from Tennis Girl 🎾🎾
Yes, I included an example of you in the screenshots! See you read. Yes being more socialized on here works wonders.
Thank you, I've been here a little over a week. I'm spending time on blogs like this to learn more and more. I have no idea how I'm doing, I think it's too soon to measure and this concept is very new to me, but I'm sure I'll catch on eventually. I'm having fun though!
Following you :)
No problem, I'm glad to help people. Yes take it slow day by day, stay consistent and you will learn! Yes have fun with it :)
I'm pretty much addicted already... ;)
These are great tips @jfitmisc that definitely work. Steem is supposed to be social just like any other social network. We need to be interacting with each other and adding value to one another consistently for best results.

Hey thanks for finding such an old post! Yeah we need to be interacting with each other consistently..
That is a complete procedure bro... Thanks for the enlightenment.. It really proves to be worthwhile for the minnows like me.. Thanks buddy... I liked your points...
It is a complete step by step procedure. I hope you can benefit it like me. With patience and persistence, all minnows will become whales.
Hello Friend!!! I just recently registered and all my posts do not receive feedback. It was even a time when I was completely disappointed. After reading your post, I again believed in my strength !! Thank you !!!!
I havent tried it yet ...but the tricks wud work well.....defnitely gonna give it a try
You should! I'm sure you'll do well if you follow my guide :)
Sure i will....thanks man.... Post regarding these tricks ...it becomes helpful to minnows like me....
awesome post @jfitmisc once again! I like your style! Cheers!
You forgot to mention bidding bots...
Use the advice @jfitmisc gives above and then when you finally have made the most awesome post in the world go to: https://steembottracker.com
check the top bot at steembottracker...
Copy the name of the top bot, go to your wallet and make at least the minimum transfer of SBD's required for the top-bot, then if you are a bit lucky with the bot you will get a large $$$ upvote and jump into "hot" get more attention etc and if you send like 40 SBD's or more to the top-bot you can end up in trending and become an "Overnight Sensation"!
If you have a good post with a good picture, you will get loads more upvotes and make a good return of investment... Bandwagon effect...
Some bots are stealthy and sneaky, others will post a big nice spammy comment in your post... (If you check out my latest post you will see a big nice spammy bot picture in my comment field it's annoying)...
Some people will frown upon bot-use, but they all use them anyway so...
Just don't use a bot on a post that is older then 3 days because then this whale called "grumpy-cat" will flag you and destroy your life on steemit...
Happy Steeming!

good article with some great tips to help beginners like me to find their way around this new platform thank you:)
Good list mate. One of the most overlooked things on steemit is replying to peoples comments on your blog - they have made the effort to drop by and read so the least you can do is reply. Often I have some great discussions in the comments of my blog.
Thanks for the advice about helping out new Steemians i think this is something have neglected.
Awesome blog mate keep up the good work
jfitmisc, welcome to steem and your ideas on fitness and content. upvoted, followed and resteemed...
Those were some handy tips, Fitness Guy! I am motivated for fitness too and I just got back to the gym. In fact, yesterday was the best day so far and I want to maintain this level consistently. Feeling a bit sore now but it is part of the process.
