My name is DORCAS , currently studying at the University of Science and Technology , Kumasi - Ghana (West Africa).

I loved to write and share issues of the heart with my notepads instead of bringing them out so others would read and be inspired. A friend introduced me to Steemit where i can now not only write and share, but receive something for what i have written down

Today , @etedrc , @doctor.elson and myself decided to embark on an exciting journey with the aim of promoting Steemit on campus. Our main focus was to enlighten Students on how best steemit can be of much benefit and also a platform to improve upon their talents in areas such as ; photography , writing, culture , food, religion , nature , etc.

I started this campaign from my hostel by pasting sheets with detailed descriptions of Steemit.

As i started, a mate came to inquire of what I was doing and I introduced Steemit to her. We were later joined by a colleague . They appreciated the idea of writing and being paid for what you have written ..

Abigail( in blue ) said " she loved writing and had always hoped for an opportunity like this and it was her first time of hearing about a NOBLE COMMUNITY of writers like Steemit.
They felt it could also help them in a way or the other by giving them work to do and Prissy stated that the money earned could help in getting materials to assist in her education .

Great work @jeeandmee, team Ghana must organise a meetup and strategize to really promote steemit in GH. Our Nigerian brothers are way ahead of us and we really need to catch up ASAP.

yh.. very true.. but we are still on it... thanks to @richforever , @anaman , @mcsamm and many more ... they are really mentoring people and doing their best to help upgrade and promote steemit here in GH

Thats great to hear, i have been on steemit for about a month now and i could really use some mentoring myself. Please suggest the creation of a whatsapp or telegram group to @richforever, @anaman, @mcsamm and @tj4real for #teamghana and if there already exist something like that kindly add me to it (0264750679)

we have one so will give them your contact to add you

Nice post @jeeandmee, thanks for sharing your story about the Steemit promotion in Ghana.

Sorry about the bot comment, that was not a friendly welcome or thank you. Bots can be useful but they need to be accurate, not annoying and have a human behind them to correct their bad behaviour.

Keep up the great work!

thanks @o1o1o1o following already

Hi, @jeeandmee,

I’m Jack a PSA (Public Service Announcement) bot. This is the first time I’ve seen you use the #steemit tag.

Tags help the community find relevant content.

This tag is meant to be used when posting on topics directly related to Steemit, the website, itself.

We want to warn you, as some curators are immediately downvoting posts when they think irrelevant tags are being used.

Please help the community find relevant content by using the appropriate tags.

I only comment once per tag, happy steeming!

Hi @spaminator,

I'm 0101010 a human being and this isn't the first time I've seen you flag a post for using the #steemit tag when it was actually about Steemit and mentioned Steemit many times.

Please consider adjusting your algorithm or manually retracting your comment. Bots with high false positives are annoying and give Steemit an inhuman feeling.

We want to warn you, as some humans are immediately downvoting bots when they think irrelevant comments are made.

Please help the community by improving your false positive and false negative scores. If your bot uses a machine learning algorithm please consider this as negative feedback for its training.

That's a great work, keep promoting Steemit and making Ghana proud, well done...... #teamghana
