Since we can't message or communicate easily on Steemit, most people opt for 3rd party communication platforms like Discord.
Here are the types of people you find there.
Disclaimer: This is not meant to offend anyone so don't take this too seriously. I repeat, do not get triggered.
1. The " What country are you from".
I have pulled this line many times and it's the easiest way to start a conversation but it is very generic.
2. The "I have this contest and need votes".
I get it it is a way to get votes for a contest but at least ask me how I am. Sometimes, I do vote for random people who ask but other times it gets annoying.
3. The random link droppers
We are having a great conversation and then you drop me a random link to your latest post. Worse still, I follow you so I will see the post. Can't we just have a genuine conversation without there being an upvote. I have had genuine conversations with people and I am always following them and upvoting them even when they don't ask.
4. The Ghosters
These are the people who are like "I saw your message but I will never respond because I am too Busy". Sigh!
5. The contest people
The "I have an earthshattering contest" people. Directions for the competition: Follow me, resteem this, write a post using #facepalm hashtag, take me on a trip, bring me the sun and win 0.000000008 SBD. It is a chance of a lifetime. Go on tell your friends.
6. The Awesome Peeps
You can have really great conversations and meet some amazing people on the platform. I have made great friends on here especially Team Kenya!
Nice @jeanwandimi
Precisely the point you are making. Some people don't know how to make
friends, connect with people and how to build relationship on this platform.
They have to start learning all these socialization tips. @jeanwandimi.
