Reputation Experiment Results - Not what I expected.

Hey guys, the results are finally in! And I now have the answer to what would happen to my Rep score after 24 hours of buying $100 worth of Steem Power. And the answer is....... (really? A drum roll?)

The answer is NOTHING. Absolutely nothing. But to be honest, it's ONLY been 24 hours. And I STILL believe that, eventually, those $100 will make a difference.

So how do I feel about investing $100 in Steem Power now that I know nothing changed in the short term? Great actually! Why? I'll tell you why.

So imagine it's 1998 all over again and you meet these two guys named Larry Page and Sergey Brin. And they are elevator pitching you their brand new idea called Google Inc. And they are going on and on about how their search engine will eventually help compile an infinite amount of information on the world wide web.

Being the responsible adult you are, you are trying to brush them off ASAP. After all, you have a good position in a top brokerage firm, and you don't want to be late for your meeting.

But what if you knew what was coming? What if you could magically foresee future events and you KNEW that Google would become the giant that it is?

In fact, what if you had access to a time machine right now? WHEN would you want to go? To 1997 and become good buddies with Larry and Sergey? To 2004 and try to make friends with Mark Zuckerberg?
Maybe a while later and just buy some stock from either one?

Well that's the thing. There IS no time machine. Sorry to bust your bubble!
But don't fret! There will always be new giants rising from the shadows into the light!

I believe that Steemit is a once-in-a-decade, paradigm-shifting, wealth-creating machine that has the potential to become a major player in social media. That is the real reason that I'm vested. That's the reason I tell EVERYONE who crosses my path about Steemit.com. That is the reason that I will keep investing in Steem Power, which is like having votes on a company's board of directors. The more SP you hold, the higher your voting power! How easy and cool is that!

So if you're on the fence and want to "wait and see" what happens with Steemit, be my guest.
Just don't come around my yacht in 10 years and cry: "If only I knew then what I know now!"
