RE: Can Steem take over the social media universe?

in #steemit7 years ago

I honestly have never been more excited about a tech project in my life, and I have gone ALL IN on steem. Most my friends don't get it yet, but I'll be patient. I can't wait for it to blow up which I think will happen soon and continue to happen. I keep checking the alexa ranking and seeing the popularity growth.

You and I are in the exact same boat, buddy.

I've been telling my brother, sister, mother, even grandmother to get in on this ship for weeks now. Now that my 100% upvote is worth over $30 (when at 100% voting power), and I obviously have mentioned this to them, I've noticed that a lot more interest is starting to stir up within them.

Soon they'll be hooked like me and they'll start working their friends like I have them. Then their friends will work their own friends and family. Before you know it, Steemit is knocking on the door of Facebook for number of users. Once that happens, it won't take long at all to leave FB in the dust.

Also a decentralized internet itself , I'm no techy but I believe dns records are centralized .

Yes, currently the DNS records are being managed by private companies. The biggies like Verisign, USC-ISI, NASA, US Army Research Lab, RIPE NCC, ICANN, etc are managing DNS. Though they are providing it 24x7 for fully free but at the end of the day, most of them are being controller privately one or another way.
So yes, decentralized internet sounds a very good concept!

Yes, I've heard this called "web 3.0" and I don't know about you, but I'm ready for it!

That is really great @jamesbrown. Your success is phenomenal and quite an inspiration for people like me who just got started on steemit. I wish one day I will reach to a status like you. Keep up the good work and keep us inspiring! 👍

Thanks for the kind words, man.

The honest truth is that I've been a chump for most of my life, just like the majority of the male population. I haven't accomplished even 5% of what I aimed to achieve as a man. I've "settled-with" in so many ways and I've been more a slave than a free man during most of my life.

That said, I made a few right choices along the way and dedicating a good portion of my energy (time) to Steemit is one of them. From here, RIGHT NOW, I can choose to use this fork in my life as a catapult to growing as the man that I've always wanted to be and I have chosen that course...and, if you find yourself in a similar position to me, you can too!

The way to feeling whole/ fulfilled as a man is to allow ourselves the freedom to do what we want, on OUR TERMS, and to foster the belief that we can achieve anything we set our minds on and then DO IT. That can start right now. and momentum can build up quickly if we can manage to hone our focus on this new goal.

To say it more succinctly: don't wish that you will reach my status, come join me!

I am sure you are not "chump" you are trying to express yourself to be. The very next sentence proves that you are very matured and ambitious person who has accomplished many things in life. Only those can say they have achieved only 5% who has dreamed much, others don't even know what they want and what they dream of. We have to "settled-with" few things in life and that is absolutely fine, no regret about that.

And yes, your decision to spend more time on steemit has surely paid you off. I am also trying to give it some of my energy with a hope that I would be able to make a small fortune in future using this platform. Let's see how it goes! I am glad to know that you are at a position to take full control of your life thanks to steemit. I wish you best of luck for living your life on your OWN TERMS and achieve all the things you have ever wanted.

I am really happy that I could connect with you on this platform. I will always be around! And I will work hard to join your league soon.

Thank you very much James for sharing your life with me and providing further encouragement. 👍

I am sure you are not "chump" you are trying to express yourself to be.

Not "am", "I've been" :)

...but you're right. Thanks for pointing out the self-sabotaging mindset that imprisoned me to begin with. I'm beyond that now!

Thank you very much James for sharing your life with me and providing further encouragement.

Right back at you, bro. You're already in my league, your wallet just hasn't reflected it yet. It will.

the self-sabotaging mindset that imprisoned me to begin with. I'm beyond that now!

Glad to know that. It is one of the pillars of success.

You're already in my league, your wallet just hasn't reflected to yet. it will.

Yes, wallet will reflect it soon.🙂
Thanks

I have a lot of friends on Facebook. I will tell them about steemit

Good idea, bro.

Whatever helps Steemit to grow will help us all here. The best part is, it'll also help the people that you're on-boarding.

It's a win-win!

Yes, I like Steеm very much. Only I'm not a brother, but my sister :)

Oh, my bad....hahaha.

My sista :)
