I know you are trying to figure this out but if someone understands please comment and let me know. What if someone has a series of posts linked on new posts are they no longer allowed to get anything from those postings? I say this as I know I've seen a few people post novels with over a dozen chapters and they will keep updating the index of their novel to prior postings.

Are you saying someone would be doing like a 5 part series like part 1, part 2, etc or are you saying someone continually edits the same post adding to it?
Several people are making one posting after another and and then put up a compilation (index post) of all the chapters like this posting
