Many of us wonder:
What does it take to become successful in life?
Is there a formula that the successful people know and some don't?
Is there something that successful people do in order to be the people that they are?
...or does it all simply "Luck"?
Here’s the good news: It really is only 10% inspiration.
As for the other 90% ‘perspiration’?
That’s also true.
Successful people are always spending the bulk of their time investing in themselves, learning and re-learning. While many vegetate themselves infront of televisions, laptops, ipads etc, they take the time to attend programs that will change their lifes forever!
By learning and improving themselves, they push the bar for 90% higher and higher, until they go beyond what ‘average’ people achieve. There’s really no secret to success – just how much effort you are willing to put in to achieve your goals and dreams.
Of course, blind effort is wasted effort, so here’s the 3 keys to investing in yourself to guide your way…
Education
Most people stop learning once they’ve completed school.
Don’t be one of them. Don’t stagnate after graduation.
Spend at least 30 minutes every day by learning something – whether it’s through books, videos or podcasts. You can also attend many of the events out there. On average, there are 30 events daily in every city, some paid and some are free. Commit yourself to going for at least one event a week. Never stop learning.
If done consistently, that’s 180+ hours of learning clocked in in just 1 year. That’s the equivalent of an extra 4 hours of education, every single week. If you can learn an average of 1 hour a day, you will be one of the top 3%.
Imagine the amount of progress you will make by investing such a small amount of effort every day. It’s compound interest working its magic, silently.
Make education a priority and you’ll be amazed at how far you can actually go.
Health and Wellness
Take care of yourself and your body. But if your health crashes, everything else will fall with it. The point is to get started and keep up that momentum no matter how little you begin with. Start today!
It’s easy to take this one for granted when you have it amidst all the hectic schedules of life and work.
You may never get your previous productivity levels once it’s gone. Worst still – you may never be able to get anything done ever again.
While this is an extreme example, it’s the absolute truth. If you want to enjoy the fruits of your efforts in your later years, then take care of yourself now.
In fact, there should not be any point in your life where your ambition precedes your health, because those 2 should go hand-in-hand.
So set aside those 30 minutes a day for just you. Walk, exercise and be active.
Model After A Master
Alongside educating yourself and taking good care of your health, you need to model after a master.
What does that mean?
Find the person who is your role model for success and learn from him. His mindset, his actions, and how he got there. Someone who can guide you through the path, as well as helping you avoid the pitfalls throughout your journey.
This would tremendously shave off countless of hours and save you time learning from someone who has actually done it.
So start educating yourself daily. Get healthy. And find a master to model after.
When you invest in yourself and commit to these 3 areas, you will transcend to your success even faster than you ever thought possible.
