The one old-fashioned recipe you need
This is the one. I've tried em all, it's my goto Old-Fashioned from the one-cocktail-book-to-rule them all the Death and Co cocktail book. Perfect for browsing steemit.
Here is the recipe:
2 ounces Eagle Rare Bourbon
1 teaspoon Demerara Syrup (See Below)
2 dashes Angostura Bitters
1 Orange Twist
1 Lemon Twist
Stir all over ice, then strain over a big ass ice cube. Garnish with the twists (just take a peeler to the outside, then twist them up)
Demerara Syrup
This is a simple syrup made with a more caramel sugar called Demerara. You could do this with a regular simple syrup and it would still be great. Just substitute Demerara with regular sugar. The Demerara syrup is part of what puts this thing in the big leagues though. Other bourbon's can be used in the same parts if you have them around.
In a saucepan, combine 2 cups of demerara sugar and 1 cup of water. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly and without bringing to a boil, until the sugar is dissolved.
