Thanks. I had just posted a similar concern a few days ago. I had also posed the question... What happens when all the Bitcoins are mined? The protocol in Bitcoin has to be changed to create more. Just like a government printing more money isn't it. Kind of anti-crypto in a way.

The thought process by Satashi is that the transaction fees alone will be sufficient to keep the network running. This may work since the miners looking for huge returns will have exited the field.
I'm not sure BTC will be around by the time it happens, if it is, there will indeed have to be changes.
