My opinion is that we need to depart from this idea that steem is a blogging app similar to Reddit.

Steem is a platform on top of which many apps can be implemented. It just happens that content itself is stored in the Blockchain, for which I have many reservations.

What makes steem unique, as you said, is that steem empowers apps to reward contributions, whatever the nature of the app and the contribution.

What is thus needed is to promote steem to app developers out there and bring users to those apps through marketing.

Contributors become shareholders of the steem crypto. That is bound to pick people's interest.
