This Could Be Considered Both a Sad Day and or a Happy Day.
Today I was able to play with this amazing tool put together by @Shaunmza called Steem Followers. This tool shows you everyone who follows you, unfollows you or mutes you. Well, I must say I was blown away!
So without focusing too much on the negative aspects of the information I uncovered I want to jump right into what I am going to do about it. I will be checking this tool daily to see what is happening behind the scenes. You see I am one of those people that believes if you want me to follow you I expect the same in return.
If I have not followed you back you can let me know in the comments. I have followed over 16,000 people on this platform in the last year and let me tell you, it takes time. I have seen posts say it only makes sense to follow people with influence on the platform and engage them. This is pure bullshit because some of the current minnows will be whales in the future. Do not judge someones account just because they don't have SteemPower!
Due to the Information I Have Found, Some Room Has Been Made on my Steemvoter!
This means a new group of people will be added to my automatic voting bot. I vote 20% to help me keep my voting power from being depleted. Ever since HF 19 I have been struggling with keeping it over 25%.

Good Morning Randy, that is quite a following to maintain. I found steem followers just after I started here, 3 people muted me as soon as I signed on? but that didn't upset me as much as 1 other, who by chance I mentioned in a post.
Shorty there after He contacted me with an apology that it was a missclick or something. I enjoyed his posts so continued to follow him anyway, ( But came a hairs breath from never hearing from him again ! ) and thats why he became aware of the mute.
The long and short of it is...I'm happy here @ steemit and want to grow, Free of getting upset about other peoples actions. I may get political in time, maybe not.
Thanks for another great post! I incapacitated myself on Sunday and haven't been able to type LOL, but am on the mend :-) And getting caught up.

Sometimes I have noticed that when I'm on the app when I click follow, it will unfollow someone that I really wanted to follow. I don't always remember to go and check on my laptop or tablet. This is a rare glitch where when you are already following it doesn't load in the app, so when you click follow it actually unfollows. This has happened a couple times to me now. Just FYI for anyone using the apps for smart devices or tablets.
yes I've noticed my phone isn't always on the same page as my comp. A reload should clear this up :-) esteem i don't use much, so can't say
followed 16,000 ... that is amazing. I've just started and find it overwhelming trying to sort out how to decide who to follow. I guess it is a learning process.
I really like this idea and will adopt this also moving forward. If I remember correctly you can add 500 rules to steem voter and that is about as many people as I want to follow me really. If more do that is great but I know I can handle regular interaction weekly with about 500 Folks. Thank you a lot for sharing this tool. I'm going to go and update one of my posts and add it to my list of tools you can't live without! Thanks again.
That 'Steem Followers' setup is an awesome site Randy, thanks for sharing. You're always on the cutting edge my man, that's why so many of us pay close attention when you mention things!

Well @hilarski I'm not really sure how often I end up commenting on your content, as I don't like leaving random comments just for the sake of it, but I know I've been following you for some time now, and that I also post daily content on a regular basis, that you might find nice. I don't know who in their right mind would unfollow you or mute you but at least it has created space for some of your true and greatest followers to be part of your auto vote group.

I'm just sitting here being pretty amazed that you have clicked on the follow button 16000 times. That takes some serious dedication.
Prior to July I was an active follower of yours. This month I've been traveling a bit and gone without Internet for at least 3/4th of the month so I've been not so active of a follower... A quick look at my content would be appreciated though 😊

Once you reach either 300 or 500 SteemPower that option will show up. It will be a slider that you can adjust your votes with. Thank you for following @Quietbear!

Same here. Usually by the time I get through the comments, someone has already addressed or made a comment that I was considering, in which case, I just up-vote theirs and move on. Just like I did on this one!
I don't think this follow thing has to be two way street. If some chooses to follow me he shouldn't expect me to do the same just for sake of it and vice-versa.

I have been on social media building my brand for years and I really dislike the folks who think they are special and don't follow others. It is one of my pet peeves.

why should we follow every single person that follow us even if we don't want to see their content every day? so we can get to 2000 follows and never see what is actually being posted?
We all do it in different ways. This is how I operate. My business success online over the last five years is proof of this recipe working.

I don't use my feed since I follow the majority of active users on the platform. My favorite section is Hot.
It doesn't always work that way. On Twitter, I have a ton of followers, but no way I would follow them all back. My feed would be so polluted I wouldn't find the content I am actually interested in. I follow those who interest me and don't follow just because they followed me. The follow back rule is purely SEO type mentality and not actual good content.
Have you ever tried Twitter Lists? Follow everyone without the chaos. I believe it is a classy move rather than just for SEO. People feel special when you follow them back.
Yes, it is a 2 way road. But i have exactly same problem. I had some users that wanted to see their content daily and now having only 71 following, can't see easy their content anymore.
Lol... one of my followers was having pron... i sure dont need that here too :-) It is all over the internet but not needing in my feed :-)
If it will be a way to make some favorite being first it will be a nice step. But till then, now at the begining we must follow as many we can. But at some point, we must filter that info for sure.
In your area of working it helps a lot. You share information and make a living from it as you said. Is the best way to share it.
But others who wants to read in some areas they can focus that way and help that group to evolve. Ain't that good too? To grow oriented groups of interest?

Well, I hear that. I follow you (on both my accts) and upvote most of the time with the occasional comment. And you know what, I'm surprised I keep up that much. I actually stopped adding to my followers of late because my feed is so slammed (especially cause of all the resteems).
Kudos to you for trying to keep up. I spend hours a day working through my feed and still never hit on it all.
I like following n commenting on your posts because We get the good info content, which is helpful for a newbie steemains and plus you reply back n upvotes which all experience makes rewarding and friendly experience.
That's indeed a great tool but how would you manage to see all your followers, people you are following and all the data work? You will be having a huge data to compile :P

I have been watching that steem.makerwannabe.com site every day to see the data it provides. It's a very powerful tool! I'm not sure who gave it to me, but it was probably someone from steemit.chat. Maybe @steemitadventure ?

I will do the follow for follow if they are actually doing something on Steemit. But do you actually follow the people that don't read your post then say "great post follow me"?

Seriously though, following 16k people has got to be hard. How can you see what people are actually posting? Don't you end up missing a lot of things you might be interested in?

I'd love to be on your voting list. I have supported you and recommended you to my group when they ask questions about steem analytics. Plus, votes for me are good for curators because whales rarely vote and gobble up all the curation rewards but my post still range between $5 - $100, usually averaging in the $20's. ^^

Speaking of Solar and Panama, what do you think of Tesla's recent rabbit pulled out of a hat? They will supposedly start selling solar roofing that is cheaper than regular roofing?! That's a world changer.
Well, Tesla solar products are good from what I hear. However their solar roof tops are mostly popular due to superior marketing and already in place popularity. They have not proven their roof top panels produce more power than the other competitors who have been doing it for years.
If Tesla can make a comparable product and sell it for less I would question how they source the raw materials. Mining silicon is often a slave labour trade in Africa.
So, I don't know if the product is better but either way I do support solar rooftops in any form.
I love the idea of being completely off the grid. I need QUIET power production though, so generators are out of the question. That's due to my security concerns of course! Do you have any experience with micro hydro?
I do know of micro hydro but not much about it. I have written a bunch of articles about off options including how to stay online when living off grid in the wilderness.
I have plans in the works to achieve a goal of living off grid in the wilderness. Just need my coins to hit the moon and it's done. ^^

Where do we find that tool lol? I just follow whos ever content I find interesting. I work 12 hour days running a Company, upload 3-4 recipe videos per week on youtube and try to upload as much as possible on here, unfortunately reading time is very precious lol. But I am finding more and more friends and interesting characters so follow list growing daily. 🙌🏼🙌🏼🤗🙏🏼💯
