I was on a cryptocurrency forum - the first platform I actually participated wholeheartedly in. It took me a while to realize that all the posting and news and effort I was putting in there was more for the benefit of the people who owned the website than for anybody else.

I spent around a couple of hours their everyday and didn't earn a penny there. Took me a several weeks to see the light but by that time I had come to steemit and perhaps that was a reason for me becoming aware of my mistake.
