I have been talking about steem for some time now, at work, with friends and while chatting online with strangers. So far i've managed to recruit a few people who see many possibilities with the platform when it comes to reaching new people.
When i explain how you could make money on the platform without adsense and sponsors they get very eager and want to learn more about it. Steemit gives the creator power over their own revenue, by rewarding great and interesting content you promote it as a platform with integrity.
Earlier today i sent out e-mails to several newspapers here in Norway and i am now eagerly awaiting a response hoping at least one of them will see in to it and publish an article.
All steam articles i've found interesting so far have been shared on my personal facebook page to get the word about this fantastic invention out there, i have seen a lot of great proposals so far within advertising. Stickers, billboards and merchandise are some to mention a few.
How do you promote Steemit?
The most important thing i think is to teach new users about blockchain first, how to send coins to an exchange, how to buy BTC and turn it to steem, but we'll get there slowly, it's just a matter of time until mass crypto currency adoption.
This makes me think about when the first iphone was released it was so new, and it took time until people knew how to use itunes, download apps...
You can promote steem by being obsessed about it all the time and spend every waking minute of your life thinking about. The effect of this is that your friends and work colleagues get bombarded with extroadinary tales of curation awards and catching whales, they won't be able to resist! The mind persuasion will do the trick. Go out and start converting people. Make them one of us. one of us. one of us.
You see, for most people I know the whole idea of "making money" for blogging would be ridiculous, they are doing it not for that.
It is like, someone have a cat, and you are saying- "you know what, if you bring your cat to cat show you could get some prize money "
Yes, people do realize that, just don't bother anyway.
The billboard thing was crazy ( but Awesome),however I think that people that are keen on blockchain tech, social media, blogging will be the main audience for the short term. I don't know if the masses will ever get Steemit in its current form but then again if the steemit community grew to 1 million or even 10 million itd be awesome.
I believe that the number of users will increase by several dozen times soon.
@harand My idea is steemland, which I am working on as a way to help steem users as well.
