RE: Everything you Need to Get Started Fast with Steemit, Social Media that Pays [Complete Tutorial with Screencast]

in #steemit8 years ago

That's sure a complete post! It must have taken quite awhile to put it together! I didn't realize that a blockchain is actually known as a distributed ledger technology. In talking with friends, it seems like the terms cryptocurrency and blockchain scare people. I've been calling the blockchain simply an electronic ledger for all sorts of information and transactions, and using the NYSE as an example where computers have to track selling, buying, stock splitting, and so on. It seems to help people think that they understand it.

I came over to Steemit from the TSU social networking platform that folded in August. I wrote a description of Steemit from the perspective of a TSU user. I focused on things that I know TSU users cared about on that platform and without using the words cryptocurrency and blockchain. I wonder if it would be good to have guides to Steemit for people coming from different platforms, like, "So You've Come to Steemit from Reddit - Here's What's Similar, Here's What's Different".

Thanks for such an informative post -- and giving it a Creative Commons license.
