✅ 10 Ways To Improve Your Steemit Blog TODAY! 🔺Get More Followers, Comments + Engagement!

in #steemit7 years ago

Do you want more followers? More engagement on your posts? More Steem? Here are 10 Things you should do today that can help you to achieve that!

I have been struck down with the flu (I am someone who never gets sick... and now suddenly I'm sick last week and sick again this week) so I am stuck in bed. However, I am determined to make the most of this opportunity and invest my sick day into my blog by doing the following things:

1. Comment, Comment, Comment

I am going to try and take a leaf out of @Stackin's book and try and do some serious commenting today! If you read my Steemit Success Story: A Study on @Stackin you will have read that one of his ways to success in the couple of months he has been here is that he has made over 7000 posts. That is a LOT of comments. But Steemit is a social network - and that is the best way to be successful!

2. Create an Awesome Post

A lot of people worry about writing a post, and whether it will be liked or whether it will be a flop. Just write a post that makes YOU happy. I have been wanting to make a Sweet Pizza for a while...and being unwell is the perfect excuse, you know when you just want some comfort food?

Well, you might love it, you might hate it, but today - I'm gonna make it!

3. Tell a Friend About Steemit

Tell a friend about Steemit and get them on here. You guys will be able to support each other by upvoting, resteeming and commenting on each others content. You can have someone to chat about your latest Steemit drama with. (Like I do with my husband when I'm like "Uh-uh no she didn't! babe, LOOK at what this person just commented on my post!")

Get more people into Steemit and help the value of Steem go up and up!

4. Make a 'How To' Post

Especially if you are inviting your friends into Steemit - you want them to have the tools to succeed. I see that 'How To' posts are appreciated on here, so if you know how to do something that you want to share with others.... like 'How To: Write A Good Post', 'How To: Use iMovie' etc. then share that with your fellow Steemians.

Today on my sick day I am going to make a 'How To' for installing a Smartcash Wallet!

5. Go visit your followers

Steemit is a social network, it can't always be a one way conversation. You need to maintain friendships. When you have a couple hundred or more followers it can be difficult to check in on them all all of the time. But being ill, and in bed is going to be the perfect excuse. It's just me and you Steemit, hiding behind my keyboard no one can see my bed hair, see my un-made up face and hear my croaky voice, and I intend to use this to my advantage and be a little social steemit butterfly today.

6.Enter some competitions

Competitions on Steemit are SO fun! I love entering competitions. I won one competition this week which was super exciting!

And I am always in the mood to enter more. Today I will be searching through Steemit looking for the different kinds of competitions to be entered! It is a great way to get inspiration for new content and also to earn steem or other crypto in the process.

7. Do That Thing You've Been Meaning To But Haven't Had Time

I have been meaning to order the parts I need to in order to complete my motovlog set up (a GoPro Mic Adaptor and a microphone) for almost 2 weeks now! Today I will leave myself some time to sit down and order those so that next week I can make my second motovlog.

We all have that one niggly thing we've been meaning to do for our Steemit blog, so whatever yours is, do it today!!

8. Try Something New!

Never made a video? Make a video! Never made a recipe post? Try that! Never written a post on your opinions about crypto? or about something you're passionate about but thought no one would enjoy? Your Steemit blog is allowed to be an experiment where you write what you enjoy and you see what works for you. You may be pleasantly surprised with the results!

9. Find New People To Follow!

Variety is the spice of life! Today I intend to get lost down a rabbit hole on Steemit searching for new people and interesting content! I am really excited to see whats out there...

10. Follow Me on Twitter!

I will follow you back on Twitter and Steemit, and come and upvote and comment on your Steemit posts!!

STEEM On!!
DaveB

hahaha thanks a lot @davebrewer I appreciate it :)

It is interesting how commenting is the first tip you list. I haven't posted anything since I began this journey but I have been enjoying the information on the posts here and leaving comments for the authors. I have also been resteeming posts others might find valuable in terms of information about Steemit. So far, I have somehow gained 240 followers this way. It is wonderful! Soon, I will focus on going into each of my followers blogs and start commenting on specific posts as well. As you wrote in your post, it is important to build relationships and write about what is meaningful to me. I think what I find missing in some of the posts I come across is AUTHETICITY. So it is important to write for the audience but about topics we love and have to offer and not just write meaningless posts directed to an audience but written without the heart nor the mind of the writer. I intend on building a good relationship with my followers before I start posting some of my content here.

Hey thats really interesting that you have managed to build your followers in that way :) and I like that you want to build a good relationship with your followers before you start posting your own content!! I'm sure with this recipe you will have a successful steemit blog and lots of engagement in the comments on your posts!! :)

I'll stick with number one :). Nice post!!
This is just the way to go .

thanks a lot for reading @organik :) I appreciate it!!

Helpful post Hannah, I really like the part where you say do something that you've been meaning to do but haven't had the time. I finally did that today.

Yayyy, that's awesome, what was it? I bet you feel great now you've done it!!

I finally made my first introduction post on steemit which I've been wanting to do for the last 2 months but never got around to it. I feel 1000x better now that I actually did it. The community is awesome and I'm looking forward to learning and posting more. Anyways great article, keep up the amazing work!

awesome I will come and check out your introduction post now :)

Great post very fun interactive and colorful :)

I have been on here for less than a month and really enjoying my time so far. My confidence got a little rocked as I got a bit of a writer block but your post just totally inspired me to get back on board!

Thank you <3

thanks so much @jenova
Yes! writers block can sometimes strike at the worst times... but thats when its good to search for contests and stuff to give you Inspo. Or even just not write - post a pic of something you saw that day or your pet haha :)
I appreciate you reading and the nice comment!
