RE: When Steemit, inc. allows account creation...

in #steemit6 years ago

I know, but unfortunately nobody wants to remove the selfupvote option :( I discussed it in other posts and even wrote a blog about it, but seems that some people find it OK. Seriously i dont see it that useful, mostly when it comes to comments. We can upvote our posts, but no need to upvote comments.

Sort:

NO SELF UPVOTING should be permitted! There is no valid reason for it, at all.

Does something like this make sense?

It sure doesn't. I upvoted myself the first couple days on a couple of my post...more or less by accident, because I wasn't sure what it was. But, I stopped immediately, once I figure out I was "paying myself" which is just ludicrous.

Why accident! You have the right to upvote your posts. You need to do that to get at least some visibility, because you are not a Dolphin or Whale yet. But to upvote the comments doesnt make any sense. You feel that you do everything alone. You dont support anybody and nobody supports you too.
The problem is that 25% of the users even Newbies dont upvote others posts, but only upvote their comments. Even if their upvote value is 0

That's just sad.

Why not remove the option altogether? Then, it's all as it should be..PURELY DRIVEN BY THE QUALITY OF THE MEMBERS' CONTENT?

They dont want to remove it, because many members are against that :(

It's just silly. I think the opinion will change. This is no nearly so big a problem as the paid upvote bots and the malicious downvoting without a community-approved reason.
