Summary: add a historical section to Steemit, so the lives of valuable posts can last 100 times longer.
I find some posts on Steemit very useful and interesting. However, most posts I see are uploaded within the last 24 hours, or at most within last week. So virtually all great old posts, posted, say, one month ago, are invisible to most readers.
An author of a good post spends lots of time and energy on writing it, and it’s a pity the life of a post can last only one day or one week.
So here is my suggestion: add a historical section, which lists popular posts by weeks. For example, popular posts for the week July 4, 2016 to July 10, 2016, etc.
If the suggestion is accepted, a user visiting Steemit 3 years from now, on July 18, 2019, can easily find all popular upvoted posts uploaded within the previous 1000 days, a world 100 times richer and funnier than the current "1-day only" option.
I agree with your suggestion. With the current amount of post been published, it makes it hard to explore old popular post.
Great suggestion, better archiving and search are hopefully going to be included in a future release.
I think at current system, the posts are still there. But it's difficult for users find them. Most visible posts are 1 day or 2 days old.
That's the reason I suggest we add a historical section.
