No, of course you are not stupid. You only care so much which, when placed up against the other options for your STEEM, shows you have taken the path less traveled.
I am afraid that I have taken the obviously more profitable path, but my reasoning is that the people that care for Steemit (and not see it merely as a cash cow) need to hold the Steem for future benefits.
So I loan my Steem, but power up everything. That is my own version of short term pain for long term gain.

More bots appear each day, and the bidding rounds are still being filled. We do need the price of SBD to plummet, or a fork that rewards curation more.
