I totally agree.
While I am a newbie, I have been trying to stick to the "steemit etiquette" as much as possible. It's pretty irritating when you spend a lot of time on a post and it instantly get's buried by a wave of random short-lived content and is only commented on by what are obviously bots. This is particularly true of the very popular tags such as photography or life, where people seem to use it as a dumping ground for any kind of vaguely related content.
I am hopeful though, as I believe steemit is only just coming out of its infancy and will develop solutions to those problems as it grows and improves.
