Reality Check: Steemit won't magically turn you into a blogging millionaire

in #steemit8 years ago (edited)

There's been a steady uptick in post expressing disappointment in post rewards. Steemit only promised you $10.00 you wouldn't have gotten otherwise. If you weren't a reddit gold super star before, if you didn't write a world famous blog before, if you didn't take award winning pictures or create art that sold or get invited to poetry readings or have dudes beg for your pics on date sites, it's pretty likely that it won't happen on steemit either.

Steemit isn't your fairy godmother or the genie of internet money, it's merely a platform for social networking and content creation, so whatever grand illusions of quick money and internet stardom you bring to the equation are on you, not steemit, not the whales, not the minows--you, just you.

Now hopefully you've grounded yourself enough to realize that as more talent joins the ranks of steemit, you have the opportunity to put those pennies to work and upvote content that you either love or believe others will love--this is the world of content curation, and the first penny in, becomes the first dollar out. That's the magic.

I couldn't agree with you more. I enjoy reading and curating fresh content.

The great thing about Steemit is that you don't have to be a good writer to earn. You can play the curator role. I would argue that curators need to get a much higher cut as they have to read a lot of posts and make decisions. That is real work and needs to be rewarded accordingly.

Nothing is ever easy :D

Exactly they bring the weight of their previous hard work with them, they didn't get huge following on youtube over night. it's our job to work hard and be consistent.
