Im putting this here because it rebuts the analogy made in this post.
It was a reply to another commenter on the post linked above in this post.
Given the fact that i can walk down the street and punch everybody in the face i pass, and nothing can be done to unpunch those folks, then it can be said that life has no rules against punching folks in the face, either.
A majority, or minority, can react but that doesnt change this fact of life.
I choose not to partake of this freedom because i agree that if everybody did it life would be intolerable to most folks.
Given that pay for play has had a reaction in the population that classifies it as a crime in most cases, then we can expect that, at some point, there will be a reaction against it here, too.
Until then, thanks alot for punching me in the face, eh?
Any rewards not earned because a real person read your content and thought it, or you, were worthy of an upvote is reward pool rape.
The reward pool is there to encourage 'the best' content as determined by the stakeholders involved with it.
Perhaps you think that content the author is willing to pay to promote is 'the best', but i prefer content that i have read by authors i want to encourage to create more.
We can agree to disagree on that, but i find nothing moral in mining the ignorance of the average user.
Nor in the ganging up to do it more efficiently.
And, no, i wont be changing my mind.
I prefer an ecosystem for steem where we all behave because its the right thing to do, and not because somebody slapped some cuffs on us.
