It would be nice if somebody would put out a post, or link to one, that explains the curation reward curves.
I've been here over a year and haven't seen one post that explains how the curation reward curves are affected by time, weight, and the reverse auction.
My question is about these little pilot fish that vote me before the reverse auction ends.
Does their place in line change the rewards down stream?
At what point does the order in which your vote occurred start to impact curation rewards?
At what point do these little sucker fish start to harm the host?
Have a perfectly peaceful day.
Keep working, stop paying. No war, but the class war!!
Viva! Tradeqwik, the exchange that pays you!
How to win in court for far less!!
I hear you, but, I'm not even there yet. I have too many other questions to deal with before I wrap my brain around yours. I imagine if I look closely enough I can learn why my upvotes are more potent sometimes and less potent other times. I'd also like to know how my posts are more or less invisible at certain times of day, and I'd like to know more about my reputation score. Mostly I just wonder why so few people see my posts–I put a lot of passion into them. All of these questions circle about, but mostly I just trust that Steemit is a place where I can grow together with my brothers and sisters as artists, communicators, and trailblazers. So for now, I'm leaving my questions in the dust.
Followup: I notice you tagged this post #minnowsunite and #steemprentice. Are you still considered a minnow? To me, reputation score is the figure I'm most interested in, as an indicator of success here on Steemit. But I'd love to know more about these tags, and what truly qualifies as a dolphin or a whale, etc.
Steemd.com and steemstats.com will help you keep track of your voting power.
Replacing the 'it' in Steemit with 'd' or 'db' on any page's url and hitting enter will give you plenty of data to keep you busy.
Views is not a good indicator of, well, views, because it only registers Steemit views and not chainbb, busy, esteem, or blockchain views.
Not putting out the data has been an ongoing game with the developers.
Gotcha. Thanks for your concise overview. Man, I went to Steemd.com and the site doesn't seem to be working (or maybe I just don't know how it works). Steemstats.com looks great, upon first glance. Do you recommend upvoting your personal posts immediately upon publishing, or does it make sense to wait for a time when we have full voting power? This question assumes we're posting awesome content, of course.
Try again, this place doesn't function without that feed very long.
Self voting is only a problem if you make a lot of money from it, you won't have that issue at this time.
I use steemvoter.com to vote my posts at 50% at 15 minutes, but it really is whatever suits you best.
As for awesome content, that is too subjective to even debate at this point.
Don't miss steemtools.com, as well.
Not entirely subjective, though, right? I mean, "awesome," is subjective but there's a big difference between a copy-and-paste post versus an original creation. I'm thinking a copy-and-paste post wouldn't be one to upvote, because it is unlikely that others would upvote it, and vice-versa. I think this is an important consideration because Steemit seems to reward trendsetting. So if I'm upvoting my posts, then other people might be influenced by the upvote and create a ripple effect, which is a record that Steemit's algorithm will surely notice and reward. Thank you again. Looks like Steemd.com was down for maintenance, but it's becoming active again now.
Yep, on minds I have to vote my own stuff or votes drop precipitously.
Here I haven't noticed it as much.
Self voting is only a problem when you farm it, and not then if you got small enough sp.
Better, I think, to get out and make a splash and see what sticks to the shore, but I am a bit of a firebrand,....
Welcome aboard, I hope your audience finds you soon enough for you.
I'm not sure where to find that yet either.
It's hidden in the code, known only to the select few.
The best I can find is here: https://steemit.com/steemiact/@steemitguide/steemit-hardfork-19-equality-overview-linear-rewards-curation-weight-curve-and-increased-vote-impact
I've been experimenting with FOSSbot @irbot. It seems like a "pilotfish" with low Steem Power makes basically no difference.
The cost of running a pilotfish bot will soon outweigh the benefits I think.
Here... I can help you.
You do that to the wrong person and you can kiss that rep goodbye,... #nsfw
30 is not a really good rep anyways.
Lol, at 0 you won't show up in any feeds.
@skeptic, if you want to see what happens when one whale gets mad at you.
@steemcleaners is the one you have to worry about.
I'm just glad that you don't currently look like a bot.
That means I can reason with you, rather than downvote you.
Don't expect that to be the norm.
First I have to ask why your panties are all in a knot.... All I said was "Here... I can help you." and you start going off... Maybe you need to go back to your safe space... The internet is too wild for you.... Mama's basement is better and safe for snowflakes like yourself.
Lol, you didn't read my blog, did you?
I'm just offering you the truth, what you choose to do with it is on you.
Well I sort of did... but I know that this is a useless stupid community without having to spend a year here. So if you think I'm concerned about reputation and making money here you are sadly mistaken. I hijacked this account after some stupid fuck pasted his password into a comment and didn't immediately change it. There are a lot of stupid people here and I am just here to play and blow off STEEM!!!
