The file you upload will be played directly. No re-encoding like popular video sites do for you. That means:

  • Container: MP4 (popular) or WebM (patent-free)
  • Video: H.264 (MP4); VP8, VP9 (WebM)
  • Audio: AAC, MP3 (MP4); Opus, Vorbis (WebM)

Not a complete list, but those are your best bets right now.
