Congratulations! As you may have heard by now, Steemit is still in its early stages. Rest assured, if you are reading this you should be happy to consider yourself one of the early adopters, but as of right now it’s imperative to start becoming as active as possible on the site not only in terms of voting, but more importantly posting your best quality work and here’s why:
This is ground zero right now
Since steemit is so new, it costs virtually nothing to start working your way in to the system. The website is poised for a phenominal uptick in popularity even competing with the likes of Facebook and Reddit. The people who are already established on steemit will have a head start for the exponential growth curve ahead just based on being more established on the platform in terms of reputation, steem power and familiarity with the interface.
It will get harder to get ahead as the market gets more competitive
You will want to have your foot in the door when millions of people are gunning for a piece of those all important upvotes. Since, earning voting rewards is heavily based off of holding steem power, you stand to gain big if you are already an established user.
Exponential growth
Even if you’re not making that much from your postings right now, the law of compounding is likely to come into play causing your account to multiply in value. It’s imperative to start becoming active since the beginning since having steem power will allow you to gain up to NINE TIMES the amount of interest starting now. It’s easy to see why you would want to power up your account as soon as possible. I just sold my first batch of steem dollars a few days ago and am waiting for the 1 week delay to end so I can power up my account for the first time and start generating interest.
Blogging is the new mining
When bitcoin was first introduced 6 years ago, they were considered worthless and highly speculative. Since that point it’s catapulted itself to its current price of around $700! Many of the successful people who profited from bitcoin were the people who were mining it. Since steemit is tied to the blockchain, it basically turns all of its users into miners. By posting, you are in effect mining for steem dollars and steem is even likely to overtake bitcoin in terms of mass adoption.
The timing advantage
Lastly, the main advantage we as early adopters have at this point is time. As I mentioned before, we have a huge head start on the growth of this site. Even if your posts right now are not getting a ton of votes, before you know it you will have valuable firsthand experience seeing what works and what doesn’t. These early days on steemit are a gift and are offering a golden opportunity to the people who are willing to take advantage of it.
