I agree with you! This is something that we could use here. However, at the moment this feature isn't available and only private channels are. Slack had this feature where you could DM more than 1 person. Rocket Chat is still a bit limited and ergo we have to use the alternative. I've proposed this feature but I don't have any timeline on its implementation.

Good to know! I am glad to have a place where I can directly talk to other users I admire about ideas without the need to do so in the comment section (possibly completely off the topic of the original post) I made a post about this very idea Need for a place to trade ideas after I was down voted for posting a link in a comment section of a user I wished to work with. I wish everyone were instantly added with the same username like Facebook messenger, but am greatful any system like this is available
Yeah. Not everyone appreciates if someone pushes their work in someone else's blogs. But it's good that the negative rep has been removed. Many users are available in general channel and you can strike conversations with them there.
