'You snooze, you loose' - How to sleep better and start your day right in three steps!

in #steemit8 years ago

Don't be like that cat! Today I want to tell you about my morning routine and how you sleep better and easily can make your morning the best part of the day.

Of course there are days where you really want to stay in bed all day. Do you feel like this sometimes? Or are you even a person that sets the alarm like this?  The first at 06.00 am and the last at 06.45 am when you need to get up at probably 07.00 am?

I don't do this anymore! Sure, we all did this and we all had our reasons for this but I will show you how to stop doing this and how you can improve your mornings.

Ask yourself: What do you conceal from?

In the morning when me alarm rings at 05.30 am I jump out of the bed and be happy to see a new day. Every single day!

You want to know how you can start your day in the same way? I will tell you.

There are three steps to take.

  1. First step - Preparation: Before you go to bed you need to prepare your body and mind
  • Concerning your body: In the best case you work out regularly or even better daily! Your body needs to recover over night and you sleep a lot better and deeper than after sitting all day at your computer without working out.
  • Don't eat too much before going to bed. your body will suffer under those big servings at night and your sleep won't be that deep
  • Don't watch TV / play with your smartphone because the light will disturb your tiredness period. Read a book, listen to an audio or just do nothing.
  • Concerning your bed: Mind your mattress! You are laying on it between 5-10 h a day so it should be comfortable and cosy.
  • Concerning your bedroom: Fresh air at night will help you sleep so much better than with your window closed. So before going to bed plan in a inrush airing and let the window open all night.
  • Concerning you mind: If you are going to bad saying to yourself you will be totally knackered tomorrow morning because you need to wake up early will make you feel totally knackered in the morning. I promise you. So instead of being at odds tell yourself that your are going to be totally fit and regained after sleeping 5/6/7/8/9 hours and I promise you will feel yourself regained in the next morning.

2. Second step - When the alarm rings

  • Hearing your alarm ring shouldn't bother you. Why should it? Are you afraid or annoyed of your life? Why stay in bed when you have a full day before you? You meet a lot of people, you can improve your body or mind and be successfull outside your bed. So why stay in bed and miss all this? Don't you want to be successfull and experience your life?
  • If you are lucky you wake up some minutes before the alarm rings. That is the best feeling.
  • When you hear the alarm for the first time you should open your eyes and say "Thank you for another day!" We live in the "NOW" and we all don't know how much time we have left on this planet so be happy you have another day. While being thankful you change your mind from "Why getting out of bed again" to "Yes! Welcome to a brand new day" :)
  • Every day comes only one time in your life-time! Make the best of it!
  • Get out of the bed quickly and start that new day!

3. Third step - Morning routine

  • After getting out of bed you should practice a little morning routine. Probably you do some sports, read the newspaper or just take your dog for a walk. Do something that makes you happy and you are looking forward while going to sleep. If you love to go for a run than do it in the morning and be happy about it when going to bed in the evening. It will help you to get out of bed a lot.

Every morning after getting up I am going for a run near a little river through a little forrest. It is only 30 minutes but after running and taking a shower my body is completely awake and the day can start!

If you are concealing from your job, your partner or anything else change it instead of staying in bed till you need to get up! You only have one life - make it the best time you have!

Tell me about your morning routine! :)

Probably we can improve our routines!

When I see this kind of guidelines I smell corporate driven bullshit to exploit workers, to make them cheaper, faster better etc.

why do you make workers cheaper when you tell them to improve their lifes by making themselves better?
Isn't the problem here: Staying in bed makes no sense. It feels good, sure but it is just your comfort zone. If you don't leave it you won't get better so you get a cheap worker.
