Congratulations to everybody who already has an account on steemit and has accrued a fair amount of steem power, you are likely to make a lot of money. The earlier that you signed up to steemit, the more you are likely to make. This is something that people don't pay much attention too, seeing these people with thousands of dollars worth of steem power and aspiring to get to this stage as quickly as possible. But the majority of people who who have this much steem power have been here on the platform for around a year. So what about a year from now? You could be one of those people that new comers to steemit are looking up to and aspiring to be.

The dollar value in your wallet is based around the price of steem. We have recently seen this boom, causing many people's account values sky rocket, even creating steemit multi-millionaires. With the price expected to boom again, steem being estimated at $10 by the end of 2017 / early 2018, everybody who has already started accumulating steem power by posting or through any other means is sure to see nothing but incredible profit as the price rises. There has been a lot of sideways movement with steem recently, looking at the charts, so this may be a sign to start speculating for another boom in the coming days or weeks.

Weight of your upvote

The other place that the rising steem price will benefit you is with the weight of your upvote. Your upvote's weight will actually stay the same as the price of steem fluctuates, with the amount of steem it is worth anyway. With the amount of steem that my upvotes gives to a post or comment now, it is worth a cent of steem. So even if the price rises to $10, I will still be giving the same amount of steem, just that my upvote will be worth 5 cents. Wouldn't that be incredible? I could easily make a couple of dollars day by posting and commenting if my upvote had that much USD value attached to it.

So if you're already here, well done. Steemit's future is only going to make you more and more money, and while you may think that you don't have much steem power now at this current point in time, there will be a time in the future where new comers to steemit would have to work incredibly hard to get the same amount of steem power.
