already opbotsen hours ago, but wanted to leave this nugget of advise I read elsewhere. Don't do it for the money ! Participatie because the community is awesome not because there is real money involved. That's just bonus.

Definitely! I give that advice to any newbie who wants to listen. Part of Steemit is the earnings though, so we can't help but notice these things sometimes. I think it's good for people to know they're not the only one with these feelings sometimes.
I am definitely sticking around though, because I enjoy it here!
