Boosting Posts With Qurator and Qustodian

Today I want to cover a little-effort post promotion service that is for quality content writers. If you are a spam poster that spends very little thought into your posts, this is not for you, as you will simply be rejected.

One of the services I use is @qurator. @qurator is a membership upvoting service. Its model is simple:

  1. From this post, "Contact @scrooger, @ewkawor @brumest on Discord or Steemit.chat and request a review."
  2. After being accepted, pay a one-time lifetime membership fee of 2 STEEM to @qurator. Put your user name in the memo.

That's it. You now get daily upvotes on your post for life. More specifically, they give 1 upvote every 24 hours.

This will happen to you, so pay attention: If you post twice in 24 hours, and your second post does not get a vote, edit your latter post after the 24 hour window and it will get the next vote.

The size of the upvote depends on your Tier, but it suffices to say that you will get your money back eventually, and as quickly as a few days.

No extra comments. The vote used to come with an advertising comment for Qurator, but it no longer does this, likely because word has already spread and it is growing. If this was the deterrent for you initially, it no longer exists.

The Tier System and Upvote Size

The Tier system is a handful to dig through, but I'll give you the simple basics here.

There's no reason not to be in at least Tier 2. Tier 2 is simple to get: Give at least a 0.01$ upvote (or 100% if your vote is worth less than that) to @qurator posts daily, and this is managed easily with a service like Steem Voter or Steem Auto.

As of a few days ago, you will be getting a $1.21 upvote per day (as of a few days ago).

If you look closely, you will notice the delegation option, and the fact that the Tiers are "additive". Here's what you get for delegation. For below I will assume you've already set up the daily vote.

1) Tier 3. Daily vote + Delegate 100 SP to qurator, which you can do with this link via steemconnect.
Your daily upvote is then increased to $1.38. For reference, 100 SP gives you about 3 cents worth of a self vote, and they are offering 17 cents increase in vote.

2) Tier 4. Daily vote + Delegate 200 SP to qurator, which you can do with this link via steemconnect.
Your daily upvote is then increased to $1.73. For reference, 200 SP gives you about 6 cents worth of a self vote, and they are offering 52 cents increase in vote.

3) Tier 5. Daily vote + Delegate 300 SP to qurator, which you can do with this link via steemconnect.
Your daily upvote is then increased to $2.08. For reference, 300 SP gives you about 9 cents worth of a self vote, and they are offering 87 cents increase in vote.

That is the extent of the Tier system. So if you can afford it, and if you are strictly chasing how best to use your SP, then delegating 300 SP gives you a good return.

Qustodian

Finally, the other reason you might want to join is the use of the @qurator member only post promotion bot. It guarantees 2.65x returns, according to this post. There's a lot of caveats and formulas, but I'll give the short version of what I've observed in practice:

  • Daily, you can send 0.3 SBD to get around 80 cents extra vote.

To use, all you do is send @qustodian the SBD amount and in the memo you provide the steemit.com link to your post. Remember: You have to be a member to use this.

Summary

If you are posting good quality, you might consider joining to give your posts an extra boost, and it certainly pays itself off.

Just a single cost of 2 STEEM, and small daily votes, and you are off to getting at least a dollar vote per post.

I've currently been sitting in Tier 2, but now I am considering returning to Tier 5 with delegation, but haven't made that jump yet. What are your thoughts on Qurator?

Sort:

I joined about a week ago and love the service so much I jumped to tier 5 immediately. At that time they were still offering the ability to pay for the tier increase, so with 8 STEEM I was bumped up to tier 5 for 40 days. Considering that a tier 5 vote is worth roughly $2 I think that's a pretty darn good deal.

Yes, I am heavily leaning towards that. They stopped taking STEEM though for the boost. Now it will be through delegations.

I know, I got in literally 2-3 days before they made that change. Now I'm hoping I can get enough STEEM together for the delegation by the time my current 40 days is up.

Hiya

I'd never heard of Qurator before now. Thanks for sharing this information, Eonwarped. It certainly sounds like a worthwhile punt.

Cheers :D

I'm going to have a go signing up. Now to choose something that might get through QC processs.

All the best

Whelp. Just messaged them on Discord - we'll see what happens. Sounds like a win-win for everyone involved.

Agreed. Best of luck with the approval process! My personal feeling is that it should go okay for you.

This is very insightful Thanks Evan! I'll look into this a little bit more. This is safest and surest that you'll get an upvote even if it's quite low. I'll think about this a little more. I'm not sure about the delegating post though.

this is why quality matters the most in steemit :)

That's a nice ways to get some boost your posts. I'll definitely will look into this more. Thanks for the detailed review :-)

This is an eye opener. Thank you very much.
