Why would you lose them offline? You don't want to be part of another Mt. Gox... Never trust third parties... I recommended having some paper wallets and some backed up usb with the wallets in a few ziploc bags inside a fire safe nailed to the ground...

if you dont trust third parties, then obviously you will lose your money, but I don't trust or distrust, as it's a means of judging myself. I simply have confidence that the internet that provided me the money is the safest place to keep it, cause that's where it came from. I have been earning money online since 1999, have earned millions and not lost anything. My mentality is if I ever lose money online, that money would simply come back to me from another source online, that mentality also protects me from losing in the first place... and it's beautiful :)
