One thing I did pick up on from your post is that you stated that
(the post only makes money on upvotes for 12 hours)
Now, This isn't actually 100% accurate. Yes you do get a payout after the first 12 hours, But you also get a second payout 4 weeks later.

Also, if a whale upvotes you, the time can extend much further than 12 hours. It's based on the influence of the voters, allowing for plenty of time for people to change their vote before it pays out.

If you go back to your old post (or any post up to 4 weeks old) and click on the amount, you'll see the detail of how much was already paid and how much is pending to be paid in 4 weeks.
