During my years connected to the world, I met people on different platforms. When I was introduced to the Steemit I almost forget about Facebook. The platform, where I spent many hours daily just browsing what others were posting.
With days, weeks, and months passing by I realized I just don't need it anymore. Ok, I had there some people I didn't have my other contact. But what for? To be remembered by FB, that it's their birthday. We don't find the time to be together in our free time. Why should we have a backup contact? For the days, when we will need somebody we didn't saw in a decade or more... Absurd thought.
So back to the Steemit. Since reading many posts about the promo London event, and reading about @stephenkendal, I saw that #deletefacebook, and #joinsteemit tags are just so popular and frequent. So here I am, deleted Facebook yesterday. Huh, I didn't imagine I will do that someday, but I did. So now, my free time will be just for Steemit, and you my fellow readers.

Thank you for the support. I gradually eliminated people, groups, photos from FB. There was just the question when will I leave. The only thing which kept me a bit back, was the thought, that not many people I know want to join the crypto world of Steemit. But in the end, who cares. Sometimes we have to think for yourself, and if not now, when it will be the right time? I wish you a great weekend.

Thumbs up! I think we will not miss it a bit. Just so many unwanted suggestions, commercials, privacy issues, etc..
Facebook's days are numbered!
It depends. There are still many people, who are not thinking much about how the platform works. But frankly, I don't care about it anymore. I made friends here, and I spend most of my free time here. So now we must step together, and make changes for better. Teach others how to behave here, how to make posts that mean something, and how to earn the most.

Thank you. Here in Slovenia, the first flower (dandelion) growing all around fields. Its leaves are edible, and you can make a delicious salad from them. But it is better when it's not blooming yet. Thank you for coming around.

Thanks. Nice to see this. I personally didn't have many people to tell them about Steemit. I think the majority Slovenians is still very skeptical about the crypto world. Hopefully times will change.
Well here in the States many if not most of the people are skeptical of crypto and Steemit. To be honest I was as well. I missed many months of being on here after having been told about it due to my own doubts. Yet as you say, I think times are changing as we are hearing more and more about crypto in the every day media.
I had little to do with FB. From the beginning it gave me an ominous, dark feeling I couldn’t quite put my finger on and I watched as everyone got sucked in..... I love steemit however. Nice to read your posts here. 😉🌈🌴🦋💛
Me too. I wasn't to keen on posting so much here. But I just found out that I liked so many things just for nothing... I am still shocked when I see that people are posting sooo many photos of their kids, and bizarre things they are doing... But well, we have each other here. Have fun!

To me spending that little free time that I have doesn't feel like a waste of time. You've definitely made a great choice to abandon FB for Steemit ;)
For me, FB now, when I am a bit grown up, it was waste of time - why you may think... Well, with people, who I have near my heart, I have other ways of communication. And we tell each other stories in person or by Steemit, phone or Whatsapp application on it. Others, who were my friends on FB I can't say I had much contact. And if they will need me, or I them I will find a way. But for now, I think I like Steemit community much better. I think here we all think a bit more what we will post. Not just some lame thing we did in a few sentences... But we think everything more through, we made photos with better quality, etc.. Now it's time to progress if we want to ear something. And that's it. We all need money, and FB will not do anything for us, but just for FB itself.
So, so true! I totally agree with your reasoning. We all need money and why not earn it in a fun and rewarding way ;)
Good for you! My kids use it, and I would miss out on photos and events, otherwise I have no use for it anymore. Steem On!
