I love this progress! I can't believe i joined so early on! I will throw a party in my house the day we hit 1 million! Steemit is the future and it's funny now but i feel thrilled to be a pioneer in an awesome community like steemit

Number of new accounts is flowing really well now, what are your thoughts on hard fork?
Guess we will see soon enough if its good for the community or not..... at the moment I think it is good that the Minnows will have more Power, on the other hand, the Whales start to vote again and will have a high % from the pool.... we just have to wait I guess to see how it all goes....

I think the market is bored of the Steemit HardFork ;) We saw the spike to .009 and now we watch it settle back down.. not as exciting as some of the previous ones.. maybe this is a good thing!

How much is the bounce rate?
The website bounce rate is over 55% (people show up an leave right away).. The number of inactive users is a whole other statistic.. 200k accounts with 7k active authors in the last 24 hours.. Some of those are mining accounts and such of course - but there is a lot of dormancy..
Why did they join in the 1st place if they had to remain inactive.. 7k out of 200k is HUGE...

Thats the hard bounce rate.. meaning people come to the site and leave right away.. alexa has info on this. As for the dormant accounts.. it is what it is.. its hard to develop a community with an economy attached to it.. I think its getting better - but thats my opinion :)
We need at least 20k daily active authors to get our Akexa Rank to Jump.
Its not a bad ranking.. but when you compare it to other social sites its not so great. People talk about the lack of CPA ads on this site - but there is no way quality advertisers would want their banner on a crypto site - they pay terrible CPM's when the traffic is from "forums" and the like.. The internal promoted section could have some legs if you could promote your post in specific tags..
Thanks for the update. I don't often vote on more than 10 posts per day but I have found out that there is a vote percentage slider you cannot use until you have 1million vests.
I didn't know that one, so votes from new users will have a bigger impact.... interesting...

@elyaque .. the old posts will be paid as usual. reason i think this - pending payouts is a result of earlier upvotes by people and hence the new voting power will only come into practice after hardfork :)
Friendly reminder good or bad this HF may cause a temporary drop in Steem price. If it does don't panic the market just needs time to see how everything went. Overall being able to pivot and make these changes means Steem is worth more, not less!

I think we are doing good. There is 2000 new users registering daily. I believe that with the HF19, whales will get mega whales, and we the minnows we will stay minnows forever..
Remember if it doesn't work out, the community is decide if we roll it back or not ... Or better said if there will be a HF20 soon...

I'm not totally sure this is a good move. Having higher voting power but depleting said power much quicker. Time will tell.
You can still use the slider, so if you put it at 25% it is like it was....
This is true.
My concern is that most people will only vote for Whales and the minnows and newbies will be left out and hard to break into the top layer. People are going to use their upvote to vote for a known poster who already gets lots of votes so they can try and ride their post. The Whales upvotes are worth a lot so they can group together and vote for each others posting keeping them at the top. I don't want Steemit to end up being dominated by a very small group of people just because they got in early.
I think the very first users who invested heavily will always rule the roost, so to speak.
I agree. Even if their content is not worthy. If people know they will get a lot of upvotes then they will simply try to be the first to vote on their post so it seems like it ensures the top posters stay that way. I use steem simply to have fun and enjoy peoples content so I plan to keep voting for the actual content, even if its a first time poster.
That's the best way to enjoy Steemit. Read what interests us, and engage with others. Profits are nice, but not the overall motivation.

Man I love it! Not only to get away from the corrupt echo chambers that are Twitter and Facebook but also the fact that curators and artists can now get rewards for the work they create within them being told what to do
HF19.. my first HF,... seems to be HF are fairly common. been around for a year 1/2...about 1 a month average...I know that is not how it works..but that just shows that it is still a work in progress... let see how this works,and get ready to discuss HF20,you know it is coming! just wait a few months!,I hope HF20 gives us back more votes! I think the lower votes is going to hurt the people who do not understand ,that they can not vote on every post...
