Hello, my sisters and brothers Steemers!
I have a new proposal but I know that it will never be accepted. But, I'll just write it down, maybe some of you would share my opinion!
I would like to resteem a post, but not to all of my followers!
Only to some of them!
I respect resteemers, they help others, but if you follow more than 3 real resteemers, your feed is not yours anymore. Each morning I find myself in situation when I have to scroll 20 minutes between two posts that I wish to upvote. Only few of resteemed posts catches my attention.
I am a manual upvoter and I appreciate my feed. I like it, I feel safe there. I consider my feed as a piece of art of people I follow.
So this is what I want to suggest!
Let's say that I found a post of some video dude and I want to resteem it, but only to @olegw and @chr0nix because I think that they would like that post and they share same interests with that new video dude.
Why bother all others by resteeming that post?
When I find great gaming post, I would have a possibility to resteem it only to @moon32walker.
When I find great cat photos, I would be able to resteem it only for @manorvillemike.
This is not only about clean and fresh feed! It's also about getting the attention!
I would open every post that was resteemed specially for me!
And I think that all of you would! It is possible that I skipped some posts that I would usually support because it didn't gain my attention in that sea of resteemed posts.
So this idea that I came up with would make real connections between Steemers with same interests and those posts wouldn't be lost in the sea of resteemed content.
This wouldn't take much time and nerves to devs, but it would really improve the platform.
I don't suggest to remove "RESTEEM" option that we have today, but I would rename it to "RESTEEM TO ALL" and add another option named "RESTEEM TO..." and then you have to choose to whom!
I would like to know some of your opinions.
If you like my idea and you think that you are able to push it forward, resteem this post.. unfortunately to all! :)
I think that sounds like an awesome idea!! I would definitely use the option if it were available! Resteeming "to all" 😊
Yes, that would be your choice! I respect resteemers, as I said, there are some that I visit every day to upvote their posts, but I don't follow them
I think I figured it out! A "my tags" option. You could share obscure tags. If they get spammy you can change the tag. I do not like 0.001SBD in my inbox, but if my work email got that, it would pay enough to buy a steak and lobster twice a week.
...
I think that you should read my post before commenting an answer for a question that I didn't ask at all
Yeah, I share that idea with you! I'm a bit artistic minded and I don't like how my Profile looks when I resteem others... It somehow stabs me in the eyes..
But, also I want to support others and want to resteem it, but for minnow like me, as you said my content gets lost in it, so I kinda choose who to resteem even though I want to resteem a lot more...
It will be cool if this idea gets supported! I'm IN! Ironically, now I want to resteem this...and will.. hahaha
NICE! Thanks!
That's a great " Idea", You can pass on like minded material plus connect like minded people. I can start by resteeming this post. @dumar022
Thank you, I wonder how I didn't see similar idea before
post is very extraordinary and useful:) thanked earlier if you want to visit my blog ... May you always succeed ...
Having the seem problem: the feed (over)flooded with posts to skip because not of my interest. Great idea!
And accidentally you skip some of posts that you would like to upvote! Thank you!
Nice idea. It does have a lot of sense. Transferring information to those who would be interested in it the most
exactly
I think writing a post that includes the other post then naming the readers in the first few lines might give it to the few named persons. We have an E-mail system attached to a wallet, so I send. The problem I see is that we are leaning away from censorship and sharing with a "few" is not "public." Attaching a resource such as your SBD would work. Like a master-password posting function, instead of a posting-key function. Alongside of a mutually shared plug-in, this would allow the post to pass through the network only to those users. It has to be possible somehow...
What I really hate is when I see 0.001 steem in my wallet with a link... That's actually attempt of bribery
I think it’s a great idea to be able to resteem to individuals or a group but not to everyone
I t is just adding an option for that, resteem to all would still be an option, thanks
thats what I thought and is a great proposal
Great idea @dumar022. That way it wouldn't come to "satiation" and overcrowding feed to people who follows a lot of others so they can't find content they would like to read or see.
I'd also suggest to upgrade people's feed how it's done on the main site so you could classify your feed to trending new hot and promoted.
Although I still don't know what 'promoted' class means. It's on users to give idea and make this platform and community even better.
Have a nice day - @tonac :D
Hot is pointless, since you can buy an upvote to yourself and place your own post there...
Promoted posts were more successful in earlier stage, now you can buy an upvote instead of investing to your promotion
trending - well I don't vote these guys so I don't need it! I have my own feed and I would like it to be that way. but when some rape my feed with resteem, I have evry right to unfollow
Yup, I find content I read at my feed too. Discord made it a lot easier too.
Steemit is Steemit and discord is discord. It's just getting some info there for me. I found few groups that comment Steemit posts on discord. Well, that's retarded! Make possible to other followers to see the comments and KEEP TALK ABOUT STEEMIT POSTS AND COMMENTS ON STEEMIT
I'm not sure on what you mean saying commenting Steemit posts on Discord. There are few groups I'm in, in which you have to describe your post in a sentence or two if you want to paste a link and 'promote' yourself. I find that pretty useful because that way it's easier to people to find a content they like.
But yes, sometimes even quality or unique posts don't find their way to the top because of poor visibility.
Have you ever asked yourself why you can't do that all on steemit? I refuse to talk about my posts anywhere else but on Steemit, we could have this conversation on discord and on our language, but the rest of 2800+ of my followers wouldn't be able to see it. Discord steeming is unfair system where the reward doesn't depend on quality of the content but on promotion and networking
so many of great posts never get proper rewards because those guys don't promote them on discord? Does an artist need to be a promoter too?
Thank you
I think that is a freakin fantastic idea!
Received
Thor reacts and before total mayhem and destruction is brought unto Steemit, the world is safe for a while again :)
This is why my other me created me, if you know what I mean ;-) My other me likes a clean feed... but wanted to support his followers too... and then created me, the resteemer...
And as you noticed... I resteemed this one :-)
You make a very compelling argument @dumar022. i have felt similar regarding the resteem function..
Congratz, your post has been featured in The Daily Spotlights of 10 March 2018!
This is a great idea! Everything else comes down to begging for votes
