RE: Crypto Nooby Loses Virginity...to Steem!

in #steemit7 years ago

Thanks for this tutorial @jo3potato! I'm planning to buy Steem for the first time as weel. But I do have a question I still couldn't answer after reading a few posts. How is the profit I get after moving them to Steemit and how would it be the process to get them back?

Sort:

When you transfer Steem to Steemit, you are holding it in a wallet just like any other exchange or digital wallet. Once you have transfered your Steem to your Steemit wallet, you can then choose to "Power Up" which gives you more influence over post payouts and curation rewards. I have not "Powered Down" yet and do not plan to.

You awarded with Steem Dollars (SBD) and Steem Power (SP) when people upvote your content. Once claimed, Steem Power goes directly into your node, and Steem dollars can be converted to Steem which can then be transferred off-site.

It's a bit confusing at first, but once you go through the process it isn't that difficult :)

Amazing @jo3potato! Thanks for taking the time to answer me, it really helped. Just one final question, how much is the relation of influence and money, I mean, how do you know if it's worth and how much time you would need to recover that investment trough payouts?

If you decide to use your Steem to power up on Steemit, earning rewards is dependent on your ability to produce good content that other people enjoy and upvote. If you do not want to produce good, original content, it might be more lucrative to trade the currently volatile market.

Thanks again! I'm starting to get it :)
