Hello steemians!

easy living steemit.jpg

Its been a while since we had an easy living series, as always, we try to provide tips and steps to make your life, both in and out of steemit, an easy affair. In the past I focused on life-hacks, tips and movements to make life easier for the average joe, through my personal life experiences, however small it may be.

Looking at the influx of people coming into steemit these days, at least from Nigeria, It is my joy and pride that a lot of Nigerians, Africans and people worldwide in general are getting to discover what steemit offers.

However, the steemit system adopts a way for contents to be REWARDED when a person finds a post worthy of rewarding. People with high influence on the steemit blockchain can reward posts according to how much they feel the post is worth.

It breaks my heart that people often choose to exploit this system by taking perceived shortcuts and due to the decentralized nature of the blockchain, censorship of any form is highly frowned upon, meaning people with ulterior motives or people planing to hurt the system through their activities can easily be found within 2 or 3 clicks.

Still, steemit blooms and shines if you forget about some of the worries.
A favorite quote I love on the blockchain is that your voice is worth something

Your VOICE is worth something

Indeed it is, because neither facebook or twitter will pay you for those years that you've wasted on their platforms, and even more likely, your information has been sold to advertisers for them to provide the best services that you had no use for all your life, but you surprisingly start to need after they show you the advert.

Post vote earn- Not the way you think it is!

this image from mrilm in deviantart expresses the concept brilliantly

If you're coming in to steemit, the person that introduced you may have told you that all you need to do to earn is to post and seemingly automatically, you get rewarded for your efforts. If you're that sort of person, I am here to tell you now that that sort of thinking can lead to frustration as you wonder what the hell is happening and why you aren't earning.

One of the things you need to know about steemit, and one of the things you as a person introducing someone to steemit need to tell them is the importance of value. Steemians reward users based on how valuable they find a post.

Now I am not the epitome of value or a man without error, I still make mistakes,I still write rather poorly, and I still want to learn way more in terms of how to write and format posts properly, but to those coming in right now, and to those this will be shared to;

Writing posts that provide value and posts of high quality is key to being a success on steemit.

One way of getting high value posts out is by sitting and learning what and what you can contribute to the steemit ecosystem. Steemit is a community, and as an individual, you should be able to contribute, no matter how small to the growth/ development of the community.

That being said, something that is highly frowned upon on steemit is the issue of plagiarism. Copying posts from the internet, books, or from sources that you otherwise decide not to reference is an offense not only on steemit by world wide s well. No one likes to work hard and then see someone else reap what they did off and make money from it.

plagiarism is often tied to the hunt for quick money on steemit.

Steemians as a whole will not stand for behaviors such as plagiarism, spamming, hate speeches , and;

Hacking

hack_the_planet_by_hate_love_fear_anger.jpg

Now on a normal day I would not write about this, but hacking an phishing attempts have been rampant on steemit for the past few weeks, and it panins me to say that someone I know was a victim of this.

I consider this one of the lowest forms of greediness really, as you try to steal what you didnt work for. This also isnt a good way to get yourself reputation on the blockchain as your attempt will forever be visible for the world to see.

As a newbie, if youre considering going through this route to fame and fortune on steemit, I advice that you reconsider your options seriously, rather than using your skills for this sort of things, you are better of serving the community, or a sub community, and getting a good name for yourself.

I also want to alert new comers from Nigeria and Africa to be conscious of the links they click and where they ut their steemit passwords into. There are multiple accounts on watchlists on steemit, of which include @accounttransfers and @altermaker.

Do NOT click links that require you to put your username and password for whatever reason, without first verifying that the person you asking to do this is a respected and responsible steemian, and even then, never EVER give out your main password.

For safety reasons, please log into steemit with your private posting key only,so even if youre compromised, you can still recover your account back.

To find your private posting key, please go to your wallet --> Permissions--> posting key, and click ''show private key''

Network and be a good steemit citizen

All in all, the best way to move forward on steemit is to be and breathe quality. After that, all you need do is network. Be fun, be interactive, be a team player, help other out, post about things that are benefitial to other.

Its no fun making money by yourself if you cant impact on other peoples life with your experience and works.

Above all else, build your community, your country and change things for the better for everyone around you using blockchain technology and steemit.

Thank you.

Hello @destinysaid

This post is highly educative.
One of the reasons why there is high rate of plagiarism is because of the mindset of earning in the community without considering how to add value to the community. Also laziness is a cause.
In addition,as for those that are looking for all means to hack people's account can still be traced to laziness and the mindset of making it big in the community without considering the negative effects it has on the community.

Thanks for sharing this.

@maintain4real-eu

If only these people can spend time posting content than spend time hacking
Who knows, they may even earn more.

Show, bro na watin I dey talk na.
Well, to each his/her own. In the mean time, we all need to be careful.

well thanks a bunch bania, i appreciate. You can help by resteeming :)

This post is very informative and now I think I understand Steemit better than before

Hello dear M, ihope you're settling down well on steemit, anticipating your stories.

Someone chatted me on steemit chat and asked me to send money to him for upvotes

Good to see you here, @ewuoso. Anyone who makes the mistake of chatting me up in steemit.chat to ask me for money, regardless of the reason, risks being blocked. There are some acts of indiscipline, which I do not condone; vote begging, spamming, scamming, plagiarism, racism etc. Steemians who fall for such scams are those who are greedy and appear too needy for upvotes. They should get to work and and interact with fellow Steemians. Keep steeming!

@maryfavour for @redfishpillar.

thank you ma. i wish to report or even write a post about it but i am scared of flagging. i know some other ppl will fall into the trap. We were chatting in a whatsapp group one day and a lady jokingly said we should send 10 sbd to her and get 100sbd upvote. some of us knew it was a joke but an innocent guy who did not know messaged her privately trying to bargain. If the lady were a scammer, the guy would have been duped. so cases like these needs attention

nawa ooo people dey purshu the money with vex ooo

seriously

Nowthat is funny, the best thing to do is verify that the person is for real or not. then after that, report to @pfunk or any other admin if the person is a freaking scammer.

i was afraid of flag, that was why i did not say anything

Someone chatted me on steem chat also with regards to that.

We have to be careful
