What is Fantasy Football?
Fantasy Football is a game in which participants assemble an imaginary team of real lifer footballers and score points based on those players actual statistical performance and / or their perceived contribution on the field of play.
Usually players are selected from one specific division in a certain country such as the UK (Premier League) Spain (La Liga) and Italy (Serie A) Fantasy Football is huge in the UK where I’m from, and my friends and I usually have our own league as well as maybe one in the office where there are cash prizes to be won both small are large alike between fellow enthusiasts that have a love for the game.
Make no mistake Football is an art form that demands considerable strategy, awareness and tactical warfare!
This isn’t an online game where there are Hackers, Cheaters and the like. This is incorruptible and honest as you are rewarded based on your REAL LIFE chosen players REAL LIFE performances!
This is all possible with this incredible new Management Game called FootballCoin!
For the love of Football..
Its hot today as I type in Manama, Kingdom of Bahrain, 46 degrees . . . so hot in fact that I don’t even want to go out in the scorching heat down to the shops, as I always invariably come back a sweating mess and need a shower as soon as I get back in.
What am I doing while it’s too hot to venture outside? Playing a Football Management game on Android relaxing on my sofa as the English Premier League has finished and I need football in my life in some way, shape or form.
I’ve always been in love with Football, from playing in a team when I was younger, to happy days of playing Championship Manager back in the Summer of 2002 with a small group of friends absorbed in this incredible classic Football Management game.
We spent most of it playing this game inside fueled by snacks, energy drinks and a heck of a lot of enthusiasm to be the winner between us! We played for 24 hours straight once because of our love for Football Management games . . . my girlfriend at the time wasn’t happy as I was always busy, and she finally had enough about two months later.
Girlfriends come and go, but football, like good friends, will always be there present in your life.
The level of competitiveness between us was intense, usually it was between Barcelona or Real Madrid, Manchester United and I was always AS Roma for one reason . . . Fransesco Totti! He has sadly recently retired as a loyal and loved Talisman who never changed clubs and could be played as a Forward, second striker or midfielder and played until he was 40. My Hero! I was myself a very versatile player in my day, so appreciated the incredible level of his skill-set on the pitch.
We would work our way through the season until it came to heads up between two of us either in the same league, Champions League or some other Cup. Then the mood would change, the tension would mount up as we tinkered with our squad pre-match based on the others’ tactics and strategy and find a genius way to overcome that five-man midfield, or the three centre backs and envision ourselves going 2-0 up in a Champions League final for example.
I would be playing against my friend Tim, and I would always smile to myself after going two goals up and he would be desperately changing his tactics in order to avoid conceding more goals and at the same time to try and attack more and get level – which invariably didn’t work and I would always win with AS Roma!
The point is, we never played for money, it simply didn’t occur to us. The bragging rights were more than enough for us when we were younger, although we did bet $25 once on a La Liga match where Tim and I were first and second in the League and this was so close (one point difference) that the winner would take the La Liga title. He actually won that Season by two points and I was gutted!
Today in 2017 we have not only PC play where it’s not online and two friends much like Tim and I playing, as well as Network Play where you are playing with other players online in Divisions, Cups and Champions Leagues.
Today, Football Management games are incredibly popular and you can even get a fairly decent one on Android which I’m playing at the moment– my friend Najib is hopelessly addicted to and spends a lot of his time on it – I once asked him ‘’why do you play that game so much?’’ to which he replied ‘’To be the best player online, that’s it, oh and to beat you!’’.
Now imagine, playing a Fantasy Football Management game where you are actually placing small (or big) wagers with other players online in the same division, or perhaps a group of friends and enthusiasts that think they are the next Antonio Conte of Chelsea. How much more incredibly exciting and tense would that be?!
A platform where you can act like a REAL Manager managing REAL PLAYERS and be rewarded for their ACTUAL performances on the pitch and be rewarded with points accordingly. It’s a digital version of Fantasy Football but with all the advantages of being rewarded with real prizes or even free if you like, and all from the convenience of your laptop or Smartphone.
So I can see how this space is going to progress and I understand that Footballcoin will change the way the way people play Fantasy Football, buy incentivising the players with real world rewards, it's the natural progression, especially as this new technology allows it.
This is just the beginning of how blockchain technology will be utilized in the gaming industry, and with the amount of people already involved in playing Fantasy Football, I have no doubt that Footballcoin will do extremely well once fully launched, and gain widespread adoption.
For these reasons, I will be investing into this project. The potential is just too huge not to!!

Thanks for this. Footballcoin looks interesting. Will definitely check it out.
I think that there is a HUGE possibility that we could see the "gamification" of the blockchain - kind of like fantasy football, but extended to all genres of video games. I think it'll be really cool to see a game, let's say WoW, where you could potentially mine coins in game, and then use those coins in the real marketplace... just a thought. Really neat post, upvoted and followed @deanero. Keep it up!
You are absolutely right my friend. Enjin coin is on similar lines I think. Although, I am yet to check out the detailed proposition but they are basically targeting game servers and publishers.
Great post, thnx for summing up!
I heard a lot lately about the boom in eSports! In Bayer Leverkusen a German Bundesliga soccer team, they're already sponsoring an eSport team.
As a No-gamer I'm more interested in investing into XFC-coin cause I think there will be a great demand not only for investors but also for gamers!
In behavioural studies they've recognized that gamer have a broader awareness of courses than no-gamers and therefore many companies meanwhile are more interested to give their jobs to gamers! Cu - Cheers!
