RE: Steemit SEO and Why I'm Not Worried About It

in #steemit7 years ago

Hey, here to play devil's advocate but the SEO approach really depends on your intentions.

One thing I can say is there are a few good SEO tips for people looking to use a bit of their Steemit authority to spread juice to their own websites.

  1. Make the title shorter, publish, this will make the permalink shorter and more SEO friendly, then you can simply edit your title to the full-length version and that will update while the permalink will remain short and succinct. An easy tweak that has some small SEO benefit.

  2. Your post-payout must hit a certain threshold before the links become “dofollow”. I heard from someone that the threshold is around $9 or $10? Though this may have changed since Steem is now more valuable.

One last note, for those that have a separate website or blog, it's not a bad idea to try this since Steemit has some pretty supreme domain authority now.

Cheers
