I made a website, cryptohistory.org, to generate price charts like these that are easy to embed and work anywhere.
To use these charts on Steemit, use this Markdown code:
_Steem 24h price_![sparkline](https://cryptohistory.org/charts/sparkline/steem-btc/24h/png)
Steem 24h price
![STEEM/BTC 24 hours chart on Poloniex](https://cryptohistory.org/charts/dark/steem-btc/24h/png)
It works with other currencies, time ranges, and chart styles, too:
![Dash/BTC 7 days chart on Poloniex](https://cryptohistory.org/charts/candlestick/dash-btc/7d/png)
Steem has only been on Poloniex for a little while now, so the 7-day, 30-day, and 1 year charts are still empty or they look like straight lines.
There are a lot more examples at cryptohistory.org. The charts I've embedded here are in PNG format, but the site also generates vector charts in SVG format, and with those the colors can be changed with additional parameters. I would have embedded some examples here, but Steemit's image proxy doesn't like SVG files yet.
To make this, I wrote my own charting library https://github.com/seigler/neat-charts since these are just images with no JavaScript, and all the really nice charting libraries need JavaScript. So now if you want to embed charts in your posts, go for it!
good, but that isn't a new. Many posts about it are place here.
What?? How is that possible? I just 15 minutes ago enabled HTTPS so that these charts would work with Steemit in the first place. Would you link me one of these? I had no idea this baby new website of mine was already getting popular.
Edit: OH you thought I was announcing Poloniex! Nah this is just charts. I can't do charts from Bittrex yet because they don't give price history with their API.
