Very well written! Great to hear your honest view.
The randomness can be a huge issue if people start to think that quality doesn't matter. And in the short run it probably doesn't. But building up a following from quality posts will hopefully reap some rewards further down the road.

That's what I've been going by! I don't feel good betraying myself by pretending I'm something I'm not, just to please a whale. It seems people who do this get an easier time here though.
