You already know how I found you, so I thought I would mention there have been some interesting ideas floated for how to transform the platform, one of which might appeal to you.
The one I think you would like is that your vote power not be based only on the amount of steem power you have, but be a factor of steem power and reputation, or just reputation. Exploitation issues are plaguing the system right now (bot swarms upvoting themselves and milking the system) and there is some brainstorming being done about how to treat the problem.
I think the dollar sign though is here to stay. We'll have to wait and see what comes. Until then we will keep writing and contributing and if it rains money from heaven we can dance in it, if not we keep dancing anyway :).

This would be really cool for those who write. :) There would always be greed, exploitation issues when there's a lot of $$$ I think... Especially that steemit is a third-world economy lol.
