in #steemit7 years ago (edited)

For those of you who haven't heard of this, recently Singapore's central bank has announced they are digitizing their currency on the Ethereum Block Chain. From what I understand, this will potentially be setup on Ethereum's Private Block Chain but may be incorporated in the public Block Chain.

Here is an article detailing specifics

Singapore is an asian country, when it is small but they react much quicker than other countries within area like hong kong. And that is why they remain competitive whilst hong kong is losing its edge everyday.

Hong Kong is being eaten by the Chinese Communist Party, one-bite at a time. Their freedom is lost, they just don't feel the full force of this yet.

It's getting interesting now. Japan also said s.th. about blockchain. Putin said s.th. about Ethereum. And there were more news in the past like this. Singapore is the newest in the chain. We should prepare. Good post!

Great news. But since it's a nation's currency being tokenized, I don't think it's going thru any ICO. This is the dawn of a new era..

Imagine if Greece dropped the euro and made bitcoin their currency! They'd be one of the richest countries in the world!

I have heard and I think it's awesome! Brave new world we live in!

It sounds encouraging.

Singapore is always one step ahead of the game! Great info, thx.

It is a good news more and more countries accepting the cryptocurrency. India and Japan are also interested in cryptocurrency as well !

It is a good news !

The MAS is close to an oxymoron, a well-run central bank. Singapore wants to be the Asian financial capital and this move is enormous in giving them a massive comparative advantage over rival Hong Kong.

China welcomes anything that improves offshore Yuan clearing and Singapore has been falling behind London for the #2 spot behind Hong Kong. This is big news for Ethereum.

This is good :)
